Ok before I go nuts trying to find out wtf is wrong with this damn thing, I gotta ask you brain wizards here. What am I doing wrong???

I'm trying to put SA object in VC like the topic starter did.

 

here are the steps I do.

 

I pick whatever the f*ck I wanna change, the TXD and DFF from SA. I open it in Zmodeler2 and I find that the dff's textures look incredibly dark. So i export the file as a 3ds and import it with zmodeler1 and I use light map for the textures and they look normal in zmodeler. I make a new txd and a dff compatible with VC (i hope)...then I make a col. I go in moo mapper and put it into Vice Like I already know how to do.

 

Then when I go to see how the floor I put in looks this is what I get.....

Which object u want to convert to vc? Oh, and the mod isn't dead, but i've got some problems with my ISP.... I'm not at home now, but i'll show some pics after i got rid of the ISP probs..

are you going to allow SOL to use your map? mckay's been trying to convert it for the longes time, so maybe this could take some load off his back.

 

EDIT: ok, after figuring out i forgot to read 1st page before posting it, i take it back. anyways, great job, youve gone far.

This is the object im trying to convert first....decided I outta start in Los Santos since thats where SA first starts.

You can see it looks good in MED, in moo mapper its all white and in VC it doesnt show llike in the pic i already posted. sad.gif

@nitzkit - Check to make sure you have a 1 for the third flag in your ide lines. Here is an example of what I mean:

 

2670, modelname, texturefile, 1, 300, 1

Strange. sad.gif Im also having trouble with VC right now. When I add about 40+/-(?) .dffs to the gta3.img that only has 1500 files(stripped VC) the game crashes at the loading screen. I know the problem cant be the .ide,.ipl or .col files, because the only files being loaded in the gtavc.dat are the generic files and some of the other necessary files that have to be loaded. Dose anyone know what Im doing wrong? suicidal.gif

It is not difficult to convert files, its just very time consuming... I'll try and write up a tutorial tomorrow, if I find time...now that school has started I don't really have time for modding... sad.gif

Ok m8s, after the next weekend, i'll continue updating the mod, cus i'll get a new ISP! 2 MB down 1 MB up! So be cool, the mod will be finished!

I know how to make and add my own files to VC

So you guys must be doing something to the SA dffs to make them VC compatible (I save the DFFs in zmodeler one as "vice city", but that doesnt seem to help)...so do you you mind telling me what it is you do to them? or would you rather have me go insane? devil.gif

If you manage to get all the files converted, I should beable to make a script to merge everything in one shoot into SOL.

Use KAMS Scripts in 3dsmax to convert the files over, easier than zmodeler in my opinion, a way of doing a batch conversion would be a nice thing mind you. dozingoff.gifdozingoff.gifdozingoff.gif

does this bring sa to vc or the other way around?

This mod brings SA to VC, but if you can see that the last update was in 2006, so this is probably dead...
