nismo44
well.. i have a problem with installing vehicle mods with San Andreas Mod Installer. At first my friend downloaded it and said, that it's the best program for installing new cars in GTA... so i downloaded it too...editing gta3.img and .cfg and .dat files was a bit annoying i installed it and started installing cars right away.. it said that mod installed, but when i went to play, the new car was not in the game...all cars were original.. so i read on SAMI homepage, that if i have a newer version of GTA, then the SAMI won't work.. well then i contacted that friend, so he gave me his version. He could install mods with SAMI.. but when i installed the same GTA SA as he has and reinstalled SAMI, it also said that Mod Installed! but the cars didn't change in the game... i have so many car mods in my PC and i want to play with them!! but other programs don't make backups and it takes alot more time with other mod installing methods..so please, could someone help me ? JDesigns_Unlimited
umm I am very new to SA but luckily I was into GTA VC cars. It's not that hard after you get used to it. I'm using SAMI V1.1 Now I SAVE the WinZip Files or RAR files to a special folder for all my cars. OPEN UP SAMI and tell it to look for A file. You should be browsing for your car. select it go through handling and stuff then you should be at a screen asking to give the car a nickname and you don't have to replace the car it tells you to so that's why there is an option. Now you don't have to worry about anything dealing with GTA IMG of editing any IDE or CFGs if it all went right. Now sometimes the car may not install correctly meaning in the game the original will still show up but it has smaller wheels. All you gotta do is uninstall it and reinstall it. I have about 20 cars in so far but I can't edit the carmods file which is what your supposed to do if incase you want to sup it up. If I edit that file at all my game crashes. GW2
personally i don t like sami. it doesnt always detect the handling line in the read me and thers no support for special handling. unless ofcourse theres a sami script incuded in the mod. i use gta garage mod manager (ggmm). its not quite as automated a sami but you can visually see the renering of the car you installed to make sure it went in. offthewall
Make sure SAMI isn't looking in the wrong direction. Edited August 10, 2006 by offthewall
nismo44
the directiory is right.. hmm..yes i know how to install, but it just didn't put the cars in the game.. well i wanted to use SAMI, because it should detect everything itself and so i just have to click next and next but then yea..i have to install cars with GGMM, because this is the only program besides SAMI which makes backups.. if i install a bad mod, then it's not very interesting to uninstall it manually (with img tool and wordpad )
