xtal256
I got zmod1.07 so i could import dff's (since zmod2 must be registered), but some dff's won't import. When i click 'open' it doesn't open it, it just shows blank (empty) windows, i.e no 3d model is shown or anything. But some dff's will import correctly, including ones that i export from zmod 1 or 2. The dff's that won't open are mainly ones that i got out of the gta3.img file, in particular, ones that the RealGTA3 mod put in (i.e not original models). So can someone help me? Is is something to do with the version or format of the dff's? thanx
Daalyman05
Most likely the dff is locked so you can not open it in zmod 1 or 2. Also zmod1 will not open any dffs from San Andreas if that's what your trying to do.
xtal256
Most likely the dff is locked so you can not open it in zmod 1 or 2 any way to get around this, or is it a copyright thing
Daalyman05
Well for starter's i would get ahold of the peeps that made that mod, ask for the dff in question, and see if they can send you a nonlocked one. Other then that i wouldnt really bother with my time on such locked dff's, that person or persons didnt feel the need to share there model or just doesnt want it stolen and placed up at another site. It's best to go on to something else you can make on your own.
xtal256
yeah, it's just that most of the cars i have are from RealGTA3 and they are really high poly, so i just wanted to go in and reduce the number a bit. btw, i got a Hummer H2 and it has thousands, no millions of polys, the frame rate in zmod was about 1 per second! Why do people even bother making cars that high poly for GTA?!
Mark
Cause some peeps have PCs decent enough to play with em. Either that or just just pikeyed the file from elsewhere. Yeah, in this case, best bet is to get in contact with the developers. There are .dff unlockers out there, but nobody exactly wants their work to be so blatantly stolen like that. xtal256
Cause some peeps have PCs decent enough to play with em. na, This had like over 10, 000. It had parts you couldn't even see, they were like behind something else Either that or just just pikeyed the file from elsewhere. That's probably right @Mnightmare: i think there are programs that convert GTA3 to SA. If not i could give you the z3d files and you could just export as SA dff, although i'm not sure if that would work
fuckindumass
10000 poly is not so bad. I did not run into trouble until I had over 90000 in my model. Then it just would not spawn.
xtal256
i'm not sure exactly how many it was, but a lot was unnessesary. I got it down to about a third of what it was (i think now it's 10000, so it might have been up to 30,000).
