San Fierro Safe Houses not Available

I'm all way up to the Jizzy mission and all the safe houses in San Fierro are still red on the map and the little house icon you walk through to buy are blue?

Anyone have any idea what triggers the houses to be bought? Or a work around to fix?

I'm running Windows XP service pak 2

Those houses should become available to buy after you finish the mission "Are You Going To San Fierro?" and you shouldn't need to do anything else for them to be up for sale. Does it still tell you that you can't buy them if you walk into the markers? You may have a bug in your save game file, the best thing to do probably is to go back to a save game file from before "Are You Going..." and see if the bug happens again.

Yes I have a save from the badlands from just befor the Farewell MY Love mission.

I went back and replayed the game from there twice. Niether time did the safe houses open up to buy. Although Zero's shop came up normally and I bought it.

 

I downloaded the save game for just after Driving School I'll try that and see if the safe houses are open.
