D Jones Posted August 2, 2006 Share Posted August 2, 2006 The Godfather is probably one of the best movies ever made, and the The Godfather series alone is awesome. I was reading up and The Godfather Part IV, is suppose to be released in 2012. Coppola, said he has a rough draft of some of it, and the storyline seems good. It would basically be the "downfall" of the Corleone's after Vincent takes the reigns of Don. I think it'd be a great movie, if done correctly. But, if it is bad, I think it could ruin the vibe that The Godfather had. Anyone think this could turn out to be a good film. (That is even if it ever comes out.) It's an absolute hands down classic series. On the other hand, if done correctly, this could be amazing. That is a big if though, to be done right. Michael Corleone died at the end of III, but it was obvious that he died of old age, more years later. If they do this, I'd wish they can bring back Andy Garcia and Al Pacino for Flashbacks. If you really watch the trilogy as a whole in order, the third one becomes the most dramatic and most powerful of the three. There has always been rumors of a part IV but there will never be one. Rumors have circulated that IV would star Andy Garcia as well as Leonardo DiCaprio. Francis has expressed emphatically that the Godfather trilogy should not be touched. He raised hell about the video games. If there were to be a IV....Francis wouldnt be apart of it....and that would be the worst. At the Godfather DVD Collection press conference on June 11, 2001, someone asked about a possible Godfather Part IV. Francis said simply, "there will not be a Godfather IV." Andyzoot Posted August 4, 2006 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Francis Ford Coppolla was supportive of a fourth Godfather film and planned it to follow Vincent in power of the Corleone Family with flashbacks to a young Sonny Corleone much like Godfather Part 2 had the flashbacks to a young Vito Corleone. But I think when Mario Puzo died that put the idea out of Coppolla's mind as he would not want to touch Puzo's own creation without Puzo's consent. Part 3 was a different story. I wouldn't call it crap but it is definitely the weaker of the 3 parts. I love the ending though! Get out and rent/buy them!
