VCS Characters

Confirmed

Victor Vance – Lance's brother. Victor is killed 2 years later by Diaz's goons at the very start of the game when a drug deal is ambushed. He is a 28 year-old ex US Marine.

 

Lance Vance – The well dressed 30 year old runs half the Vance business. Most of their trade was in narcotics. Lance piloted the helicopter and Victor conducted the deals.

 

Brian Forbes – A new character to Vice City. Initially an associate of Victor and Lance, but is eventually discovered to be an undercover cop. Beaten for information in the mission “Jump Ship” it is no known whether he lives or dies.

 

 

Speculation

Mrs Shrub – I first noticed the similarity between the blonde on the newly released box art and the picture of Mr & Mrs Shrub on page 4 of the Vice City game manual. Nothing is known about her or the circumstances of her marriage to the fetish loving Mr Shrub.

 

Ken Rosenberg – The high strung lawyer set up business in Vice City in 1984 (the setting for VCS). Could make a brief appearance explaining the reasons and origins for “setting up shop” in Vice.

 

Mitch Baker & The Biker Gang – An early mission in the game called “Taking The Fall” involves the killing of many members of a local biker gang. They were the only known biker gang in Vice City but will Mitch be their rebel leader 2 years prior?

 

Umberto Robina – Cuban warlord has been involved in a long-term turf war with the Haitians. Closely resembles a man on the VCS box art.

 

Kent Paul – Claimed to have moved to the United States in 1982 (aged 17). May find out how he gets into the music business and how he has so many contacts in Vice City 2 years later.

 

Ricardo Diaz – Bribed the INS for a green card in 1978 after arriving from Colombia. Mr Coke will probably have as much power and influence in ’84 as he did in ’86.

 

Please note the characters under speculation are listed due to some sort of evidence, while this doesn’t prove they are definitely in the game it gives reason for them to be there. This is to stop people listing the entire list of characters from Vice City.

Not Returning

 

Tommy Vercetti: Tommy was in jail for 15 years and was then released in 1986, two years after VCS is set in. We may however hear his name in passing.

 

Sonny Forelli: Sonny talks in the intro of Vice City, "We been thinking of expanding down south right?" This shows that he hasnt had any interest in Vice City until 1986. So very doubtful he will appear.

 

Pastor Richards: Pastor Richards' voice actor died during the making of Vice City, so unless there is a different voice to him, his charachter may also be dead. RIP.

 

Possible Returns

 

Dwayne and Jethro: Looks like Dwayne will return as he is the only person mentioned along with Lazlow on IMDB. He has had a part in past games, Vice City, San Andreas and was also the Killer Bees caller in GTA3.

 

Phil Cassidy: Seemed to have enough contacts in 1986 to import heavy arms. This is possibly the last game we will see him with both arms.

 

Cam Jones/Hillary King Hillary dies in Vice City, and Cam Jones depending on your gameplay also dies. Both may be back. Personally I hope not, because Hillary is one hard bastard to beat in a race.

 

Avery Carrington: I'm almost certain this man will return. My main point is that the construction boom is just taking off according to the Gamepro article so he may have a big part to play.

Sorry dude but this is exactly what I didn’t want. As I pointed out in my first post, the characters listed under speculation are there because there is some evidence to support them being in VCS. However the following don’t -

 

Pastor Richards

Dwayne

Jethro

Phil Cassidy

Cam Jones

Hillary King

Avery Carrington

 

I'm not having a go at you just that I didn’t want this thread to spiral into a list of all the Vice City characters, there is a thread around for that anyway.

 

My aim for this is to base it on fact that we know from Vice City itself or just common sense. You are correct on Tommy and Sonny though which have reason to back up why they won’t be in VCS.

No worries Kanney, but it’s been established in other threads that IMDB can be edited by anyone so I wouldn’t trust the listing that is currently up there. Navid (the voice of Dwayne) also produces part of the game so it could be for that.

There is something about avery carrington that confuses me. he is big in real estate and all that, then moves to liberty and gets killed. he has been in more than one game( i dont remember if he was in san andreas), but he never plays a big role. maybe this is his time. and also, you cannot forget about kent paul and donald love. especially DLove. he made a small appearance in an aver carrington cutscene in vice. he may play a role also

Besides, 'white lady' refering to a person doesn't make sense in the context Lance uses it. He tells tommy that they both want the Forelli's money and Vic's 'merchandise' back from the deal gone wrong. Why would they both want Vic's caucasian female friend?

 

I'm not positive on it being Mrs. Shrub either, but it's definatly not two suitcases full of coke Doesn't look 'pure 100% grade A columbian my friend'.

There was a neon sign of him in Las Venturras, San Andreas but he has only made appearances in two GTA games as an actual character.

Previously Mrs Shrub was only known as that, however after going through the game script for VC there, Alex confirms the name of his wife and her apparent absence in VC.

Perhaps, they do look an awful lot like 'em. Still, there's nothing wrong with speculation right? I find it to be very reasonable that they'll make an appearance knowing Cortez's status in the city.

Damn, you're an edgy person. Who the hell knows who's in the game and who's not? All you know for sure is Lance and Vic Vance, plus that Brian guy. And until we get some straight facts, ain't nothing sure, hell the only real positives are Lance and Vic. God knows if that Brian guy's gonna actually be in the final version.

Possible new characters: (taken from the official Vice City website)

 

Pedro Garcia - "Involved in violent gun-running. Buying weapons from out of state and selling them on the streets. Believed to be rival of Phil Cassidy."

 

Pierre La Ponce - "French Secret Service Agent. Possibly involved in selling military hardware and secrets."

Georgio Forelli - "Itallian-American criminal. Currently case is going to trial. Conviction thought to be certain. Related to Liberty City organized crime family. Cross dresser."

 

SWAT - "We are currently investigating allegations of corruption within rogue SWAT units in Vice City. Bribery thougth to be rife. Remember to make sure this is covered up effectively to avoid voter dissatisfaction."

 

Not a character, but this is still interesting. Maybe you'll have a couple of jobs from some rogue SWAT members (a la the rogue cop Machowski in GTA III)

 

Mr. Black - "Nothing is known about this man. We are eager to find out more. Possible connection to money laundering thought to be unlikely. Believed to be involved in running hitman business. No further info available."

This guy was in Vice City (the guy on the phone that orders you to kill people) but maybe we can finally see his face, and see what his connection is to Leo Teal.

 

Leo Teal - "Possible connection with Mr. Black. Very complicated personal life. Works in restaurant business. Communication expert. Haven't been able to get a working tap on his phones. Believed to be working as a hitman in Vice City. Possible involvement in narcotics trade."

He was in Vice City for a very, very brief moment. I'd like to see why he's placed above the Robinos and what's going on with his love interests (seems like he's bi, see below.)

 

Eugene - "Possible way to Teal. Teal's other lover. Interior designer and restaurant owner. Likes knives. Likes Thailand. Likes the beach."

I don't think Eugene is a girls name (correct me if i'm wrong) so this is a gay dude. A really, really gay dude. Would be interesting to see what his relationship with Teal is like.

 

Moweesha - "Involved in dubious practices with Teal and several other men. Thought to be paid company. Involved in bizarre practices with Teal and a manatee."

 

Now this girl is no doubt black, and it says that she's been with several other men and may be a prostitute. It seems like she'd be a good character in this game, perhaps Vic's lover?
