Brutuz
The local Gametrsders shopkeeper let me play it on their 360 so the customers who come in see the game and all, but I didn't like it much.

Platinum.
Saw this in play for about 2 minutes round my uncles house, his mate has a Xbox and he was playing the demo he'd downloaded. Looked pretty fun, however, I wasn't a big fan of the graphics. They seemed to be done in a cel-shaded kind of style, which dosen't really look good to me. Running people over looked fun though, and the physics seemed good. If this were ever to be released on the PC I'd definetly buy it.
~Neon~
The whole game just feels better than GTA. Erm, maybe the reason for this is that there is about, what, 6 or 7 years between the two pieces of hardware that is running them? This game, and any next gen game for that matter, will "feel" better than anything on a current gen system. I have nothing agianst people comparing this with GTA. Even the game developers were comparing them. But to actually say that a next gen game is better than a current gen one has no relevance what so ever. Its like saying GTA III kicks the crap out of GTA 2.
papanesta
I think you are very much wrong. Like some people might say Black is a good deal better than Perfect Dark, or COD2. The argument works either way, your opinion just seems rather bias, to be honest.
Vanilla Shake
I'll admit, I was thinking of buying a 360 to get this game. But something inside of me told me not too. So, I decided to wait until there were some reviews. Then GTA IV and GTA: VCS were announced, and Saint's Row just completely left my mind. Now, it's out. My friend bought the game yesterday, and let me play it. Quite frankly, I wasn't impressed. The story was dry, the pedestrian dialogue was un-inspired, and it just didn't FEEL better than GTA. Plus, the fact that they completely left out airplanes and some sort of countryside didn't really help it's cause. IMO, this game is just another copycat. So, now I am so relieved that I followed my gut feeling in not buying a 360. And because I had high hopes for this game, and was let down, I now realize that I can just live off of San Andreas and Vice City Stories until the next great revolution in gaming is released for the PS3. RMT
Some people are expecting.... WAY TOO MUCH ...from this game. It lends alot of it's self to GTA, yeah. But it's not f*cking GTA so stop rating the game by how much f*cking difference, better or worse this game is to GTA by every little detail. "Where's the country-side!?." or "ZmG no AERplans or Bkes LOL", behave! They never said such things would be in the game so don't expect them to be. It's all well and good from the outset to compare. But judging every little peice of this game because of how it compares to GTA is getting stupid. So stop it. Or I'll come bum you. In the eye. GTA3Rockstar
Picked this up just today. Got lucky and scored a cool Saints Row faceplate. Am now going off to play it. Shall report back later. Where'd you get it at?
~Neon~
I think you are very much wrong. Like some people might say Black is a good deal better than Perfect Dark, or COD2. The argument works either way, your opinion just seems rather bias, to be honest. I see what you are saying about a current gen title is better than a next gen one and that I may be bias towards GTA. However, what I am trying to say is not GTA specific. I am trying to explain that I think it's wrong to put two seperate titles up against each other that are from two seperate generation consoles. The point I am trying to make is somewhat hard to explain. The bottom line is, I think that these games are both in seperate leagues and therefore can't compete. At the end of the day, it's fine for a person to say they like this better than GTA. But I don't think it's right to say somthing like: "Saints Row gets a 10/10 and San Andreas only gets a 9/10 therefore Saints Row is better." Understand? I don't mean to cause an argument, I just want you to understand my opinion.
EmSixTeen
<snip> Err, no.. They're comparing it to the only game worth comparing it to, and quite frankly it's a necessity. When it comes down to it, there's no excuse for not having these features. Why play the lesser of two games, eh? AlianAnt
Well, I'm enjoying Saint's Row more than GTA:SA. Maby because I wasn't expecting a rolling countryside, bikes, planes, and a hollywood movie scrpit? I'm taking it for what it is on a gameplay level, and I think its more fun to play than SA. There are sevral distinct gameplay changes that makes the game much more enjoyable. Metal up your ass!
Iminicus
Did NZ get something before the rest of the world? Kick ass. I love the game because it isn't GTA and makes no apologies about it. You can compare it to GTA but in doing so you are saying no to a game that is welll made. I think the problem is you are all scared this will be another Driver or True Crimes. Well, it isn't. They don't compare to how much better this game is to those. About planes and motorbikes not being in it, I will say this 'downloadable content?' Did you ever think about that? Maybe, they will add those things. Hell, wouldn't that kick ass.
JayC
I really enjoyed the demo and I haven't bought a game since GRAW came out so I am away to Tescos. I won't be comparing it to GTA, this is an enjoyable filler I can play now instead of waiting another 14 months. I am too impatient from a brand loyalty that stops me buying games that have borrowed content from others.
Jamslice
if you compare it to gta, it comes up short in a lot of ways, sure the story is bland, the writing is terrible, it doesnt have as big a world or as many options...yes but I've played a lot of games with bad writing, and I can live with the fewer options what it comes down to is that it essentially is gta, gameplay-wise, but with everything tweaked or rethought in a way that makes it much, much more fun no, I don't think it is a gta-killer, but it's a hell of a fun game, and I certainly hope R* are paying attention to a lot of the clever stuff volition have done
Iminicus
I am too impatient from a brand loyalty that stops me buying games that have borrowed content from others. What do you mean? The lameness off some peoples opinions on this game is stupid. So it isn't GTA, wait, why should it be? It is called Saints Row not GTA: Saints Row. Get the hell over yourselves. Do you stop playing games because they aren't Madden? No, you still play Midway's because it is fun in it's own rights. Did you not play Spyro because it stole from Crash which stole from Mario which stole from Donkey Kong which stole from Pitful Joe? No you didn't you played all those games. Good people grow up and just enjoy the game.
JayC
I meant FOR not from. Blah. I meant that as much as I love GTA thats not going to stop me playing and so called copycat games that I would enjoy.
RMT
Tescos ftw. Got it this morning, been playing it non-stop since. Glad the AK spawn is still there. So far I've been turning nice cars into horrible plastic monsters. Pacrel Focre
guv
So far the story and characters are somewhat bland, but overall it's an excellent package. Graphically it is superb, it plays very well, and there is plenty to do. Also, it's kind of nice that you have to work for your money to start with, being careful what you spend it on. Still can't figure out how to play ripped music, though. Was this feature dropped, because I can't find my own music anywhere. Any advice gratefully received. RMT
Press start and go through the menus with the right trigger till you come across the MP3 Player (or music player, I forget). You can then load a custom playlist. Had to get another copy of the game and move my 360, I must of nudged the desk while playing which caused the laser to rape the disk. Lost 2 days of play. Where is everyone? I've nearly completed the Vice Kings line. Just need to take over the strongholds and do a final mission. Pacrel Focre
AlianAnt
I don't think theres a way to make custom music. I've tried, and when I hit "Edit custom playlist" it says "YOU NEED TO BUY MUSIC" and at the music shop, I can't buy any of my own music. Anyway, I've finished the game. Really different ending. Be sure to save before you play the final mission. Without revealing too much, the mission start marker is on a pier. Make sure you save! Metal up your ass! palaric8
So are the rumors true, after completing the game you carn't free roam? if you beat the game with the best ending you get an unlimmited mode,is free-roammin but your life drains every 2 minute. on the normal mode ,you cant really go and investigate (free-roam)a lot because if you miss a main case you cant complete the game, the only way to really free-roam is miss a case and play fre roam till you die or load your game
