sanotin Posted August 2, 2006 Share Posted August 2, 2006 Basicly, i just bought this stupid 80 k airstrip in the middle of the desert, and this wack job is saying that i need to learn to fly or hes gonna get my bro a new cell mate and a tub full of lube. Well, obviously i try to do these. Im on the third, where you have to circle around. Well, i get up there, takes me about a miniute to get up to first coronas height and then another miniute to do the circle. I followed the directions exactly and ended up with about 139 seconds as my time. It says i have 139s 0% damage 0% score WTF? any ideas? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
sanotin Posted August 2, 2006 Author Share Posted August 2, 2006 okay, i got it to barely under 2 miniutes (cant match it again, i did my best that time and seriously lucked out) and i only got 39%. now. i am rather angry and am considering letting sweet just drop the soap and get it over with. But, i want to go on to more mission obviously and i cant win this damn thing. no save options cuz im playing it on xbox. gillies Posted August 2, 2006 Share Posted August 2, 2006 The time limit for this test is quite a bit shorter than what you have achieved so far. To get a gold medal you need to complete it in 60 seconds or less, to pass I think you need to complete it in 80 seconds or less. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
balmung03 Posted August 2, 2006 Share Posted August 2, 2006 don't loop around to gain height, from the takeoff just tap down (to raise pitch and go up) every half second to second, and you should reach the corona's height before you even pass through it, then just level out and fly straight. the rest of it's just banking and using the rudder a slight bit, shouldn't pose too much trouble Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

crazyanurag Posted August 2, 2006 Share Posted August 2, 2006 @sanotin: please don't double-post...use the button... also, i'd have to agree with grove_street_og...make sure you retract your landing gear, because it shouldn't take you more than 12-15 seconds to get up to the first corona...if you're taking a whole minute to get there, you're doing something wrong...the landing gear is the '2' button on PC... balmung03 Posted August 2, 2006 Share Posted August 2, 2006 i find it easier to use the W and S keys for acceleration/deceleration, Q and E for rudder controls, the arrow keys for pitch and yaw control (up/down, left/right), and my right hand's pinky hitting the + key on the numpad for landing gear (it's a default control setting). none of my fingers get twisted up, and you can always shift from pitch/yaw control to mouse movement to see where you're going in a pinch. sanotin Posted August 2, 2006 Author Share Posted August 2, 2006 Hey guys, thanks for the info. ironicly, i got tired of waiting for responces and tried to get a gold on first cuz i just had silver. and i noticed it said to retract landing gear........... well, now flying is easy and i got a easy gold. now if i could just get a gold on the 3rd and 2nd last missions. I find these easier when in first person mode. On Loop-The-Loop i fly straight through the first corona an keep going until i'm close to the end. On about the 15 or 16 second i press up to make the looping, when the looping is finishd you should imediatly fly through the last corona without having to correct much. The time will then be 21 seconds. The barrel roll is much easier to get gold. Fly straight and when going through the firsat cocorna press up shortly and then left.
