Kanney
I wish it took place in '88. Then we wouldn't have all these "Could that have been there in '84?" problems. We would'nt have Lance or Vic then either And we'd have Tommy!

zeppelincheetah
nah, 1984 works better. mainly because its the year I was born And earlier I didn't mean there would be new land, i meant that there would be a different setup on existing land. I said that maybe the airport had not been built yet and instead there was a road there.

zeppelincheetah
Yesterday I have received the scans and have found another 2 pictures. I think these pics that LSD scanned from the GamesTM mag should be used, as they're clearer than the other scans.
brandon6199
Plz don't flame, but from the way things sound right now, it seems as VC in 84 would not look as nice as in 86. I mean ALOT of the buildings are under construction and some buildings and land arent even there. For example, leaf links, imagine how much emptier the city would be. No more canals or the huge green golf course that we all have learned to love. Ive even heard that leaf links in '84 could be a swamp. I mean cmon, a SWAMP in the beautiful city of Vice? I just hope VCS isnt some huge construction zone...

But think about these 2 things: If rockstar Has removed leaf links and i think they probly have, it would make sence for them to replace it with some more land in a different place you see, they did say thins game was going to be "Bigger" they didnt say how, (dont flame) but it dosent make sance for a "bigger"game to have less land. Rockstar know that people love this game for the atmosphere, i dont think they are stupid enough to change the city in such a way tht the atmosphere is somewhat deminished or lost. ybakker
don't worry. I'm pretty R* will figure something out. I'm sure the whole atmosphere will still be pretty awesome. Take Liberty city in 1998. I wasn't that different from 2001. I still liked Liberty in 1998 (actually more than 2001). As for the pictures LSD has, the 1st has a smaller field of vision, and the 2nd has this stupid palm leaves in front of it. brandon6199
Yeah. Most importantly the atmosphere. I love the 80's theme. But j_mac and ybakker your right, will figure something out because they know their fans love the atmosphere. After all, never does dissappoint
ybakker
exactly. except I'm curious to see how they will do gta4. It has to be something radical and new, otherwise gameplay will be boring and suck. Its a gamble. I think its safe to say theres a new building in #17, right? (Sometimes I hate magazines ) YEs that is true, Liberty City in LCS was far better than GTA3. But consider the following. GTA3 is the least good GTA from the 3d trilogy. And I am not the only person who thinks that way. Vice City was the best game according to many people. (I thought SA was better) I do not want Vice City to be a sucky city, especially since they already made some great errors with the " two hombres in a strange town." I will buy it, I will play it, I will probably love the game, but I am damn sure that if they set it in 88 or 89 the game would be much better. But I think the 80s atmosphere will be more preserved if its set earlier. Of course I'd have rather seen Tommy again, but this way we can see what R* can do with the city in just two short years. I believe this game will blow us away, we only have a small amount of details, and God knows what else R* has planned for us.
Kanney
Just glancing over this page of posts. I gotta a question. What property will you want to buy? Personally I can't wait to get my hands on the Hyman Condo, three garages, heli pad, great location in downtown and a police bribe. Sweet!! Hitman_90
Why is "Two Hombres in a strange town" an error? Just because it's a strange town that doesn't mean the person saying it is new. Lance and Vic were doing drug deals in Vice City, they couldn't have been new. They had a chopper and knew the places. And Rosenberg even knew about them a little, so they weren't new. I think Lance might've lied to Tommy about him being new in Vice City. For what reason, I dunno. But he did betray Tommy, (a total surprise for me). So it can be possible he lied in order to gain some advantage/friendship with Tommy. @Hitman_90: The word Strange can also mean foreign, so it is possible R* made an error in VCS, ignoring what Lance says. WildChild247
you cant see the resemblance because number 17 is not where brutuz said. i think that number 17 maybe gonzales' penthouse in Vice City. if so, you can see part of the malibu or whatever it is in 84 in the bottom left corner. i dont hav photoshop or imageshack, or i would circle it

Asif
Here's my 1st attempt at one of the pics from this topic. Asif
The location of the 2nd pic has been found! Location: VCPD helipad. VCS VC Description: In the VCS pic, 1 and 2 looks most likely some construction cranes. Which means 'Moist Palms Hotel' and 'Hostes Ad Pulverem Ferire' will be under construction in VCS. Sorry for the double post btw. Edit: 2 could be other than a crane in VCS screen. Edited August 18, 2006 by Asif

Asif
Worked on #3 new pic from this topic. I am not 100% sure, but it looks like a remodelled part in VC. The building in the background looks like the hotel at Airport area; No where in VC has such building with same design + color - but confusing part is that, the hotel looks a bit smaller in the VCS screen. What's your thought? VCS VC Correction in the next page. Edited August 24, 2006 by Asif
