Asif
The most convincing (to myself) I could make. GTA VCS GTA VC (look at the radar for location) Edited August 5, 2006 by Asif
ybakker
uhhhh i dunno, Asif. The trees don't match, but's it's the best try. I thought it might be Mercedes' house, cuz it has a neon light. But that doesn't work. There ARE buildings in the background of the image (on the left). Maybe we should use them as reference points.
gohan__14
I think that ship is near bank in VC that you rob, becase you see small buildings (there were some on Starfish island) and as we remember there's a deck just in that place. So what do you think?
ybakker
I have found the buildings that are in the far left, behind the ship. I numbered the buildings, for you to see. And I've outlined the ship with red, so you can see the buildings are a match. Now we now that the image is shot from the Mainland, looking East. But where exactly along the bank, I don't know. The place where gohan__14 said is possible, except the trees are in the way. But since Starfish Island didn't have any trees in #10, gohan__14 is probably right. Try finding the right angle of the buildings, and the tree angle. Edited August 6, 2006 by ybakker
Asif
Great speculation man! Before now, I was assuming '3' as the secondary funnel of the ship... I am going to look into the game again.
WastedEngland
I think those are definetley the buildings in the background, also couldnt the boat/dock be on the otherside of starfish island? otherwise victor and the phoenix would be over water if its on starfish island. on ybakker's image i have circled the area i think it could be "note" thanks to ybakker for the image Edited August 6, 2006 by WastedEngland

Here's my latest comparison - though I am not still satisfied about the reference buildings as some of their top-most structures ('1' and '3') looks a little different in VCS. And, may be the palm tree model is new to the game. Oh, the pic was taken just accross the respray shop at Little Haiti.

ybakker
I bet the tree is new. The leaves are a lot lower than any tree around there in VC, and the leaves are pointing upwards (a bit). OR, the tree is leaning heavily towards the camera or from the camera. Otherwise, the tree's leaves wouldn't be pointing up. Im gonna try to find the exact tree. zeppelincheetah
what about the pic with the Sandking? I guess it doesn't show enough for you to figure out...
ybakker
I found the tree. This is probably the best tree I can find. Can someone maybe mod VC and remove the bushes (like adamcs, since he did it with the construction site), and take a screen to check if the buildings are right? EDIT the buildings Match. The sloped part is Diaz's Mansion, not part of the ship! Edited August 6, 2006 by ybakker
Rown
Wow, thats amazing. That looks exactly like it. So its in the waters between Starfish and the Mainland? Doesn't that bridge obstruct the ship at all... And the Sandking was just somewhere on the beach, hey do I get credit for telling you all where it is? Asif
It's a shame that I cant get the MapEditor working anymore, it is crashing everytime when I try to load a IPL. Otherwise I would have erased those bush and posted a decent photo with the phoenix.

WildChild247
in 1 of the magazines.. it said that vic and lance start off in a trailer park. that trailer park could possibly be on leaf links where the golf course was. then it gets destroyed annd they build a golf course

And before Leaf links was made? You think that's plausible? Get rid of a whole area, mid-game? I doubt it. No gta game has taken away part of the map (I mean the actual topographic map, in the start menu), left it blank, then showed a construction. But, then again, it is an early build. Perhaps you may be right. But taking the screenshot in account, I doubt there will such a big change.

Kansai Airport (wiki) Kansai in Japan airport was built in 3 yrs. But it's like multiple times bigger than Leaf Links. (I wonder how many holes Leaf Links actually has ) And islands are made from underground hotspots, which turn into erupting volcanos, from which the lava creates rock (Hawaii). I would bet that there's nothing there in VCS.

The bridge in VCS seems to be lengthened enough.
Rown
At first I thought it was just a misload on the part of the PSP but now I'm thinking that Leaf Links really isn't there... and are those boats along the edge on the other side? Rown
victim225
Look at the Leaf Links pic In Vice City and you can noticable see a rather large building to the right of the screen. Yet look at the VCS image and its clearly not there. One of the magazines stated, "the boom period we have come to know and love in Vice City has only just begun" which means alot of these skyscrapers are still being built. Offtopic: Also Dont expect Vic to look like that in the final build of the game. Remember the first time we saw Toni. Ha Green Fatigues. He looked completely different. Who knows. Vic might actually have hair.

Wierd because in picture 2(the one with the jetski) the building (known as the W.K chariot hotel - it was a location in VC for a mission called Marthas mug shot) is there but not in the picture with the leaf links bridge maybe these pictures were taken at different developed stages of the game or the draw distance didnt pick it up
