CallofKtulu
IF they are going to make SAS it wont come out to 2008, why becase GTA3 came out 2001, GTAVC came out 2002 and GTASA came out 2004 a two year gap. LCS came out in 2005 and VCS is coming out this year 2006, In the two years between now and 2008 ROCKSTAR LEEDS AND NORTH can figure out a way how to compress the entire state and some new features they put in San Andreas. AND IF(big if) the make SAS than the main character can be sweet johnson and tell the side of his story when CJ was in Liberty City and explain what could have happened in that time period where cj was gone. t0xiC
They can make it. Just divide the game into three discs.
Sinful
No way they could break SA in 3 discs...What would you do? Change discs while walking on the street? Its stupid...
Knife
It would probably need more than 3 disks.

vettefan88
ALL of SA can fit on one disc easily. disc space is not an issue, it's whether or not the psp can handle it. and there won't be a two year gap if they do make one. the only reason there wasa gap for the ps2 was because they needed to rewrite the engine for all the new stuff. compressing the textures, and modify the models to a lower poly count won't take that long. and the new story and missions won't take that long either, they can make it in a year. The-end
I see where your coming from about the 2008 release because I highly doubt they would release two GTA games in the same month of 2007. SAS is defantly possible, radios are the main problem. They could probly compress the whole map to about 600mb leavig them over a 1 gig. I think they will do a San Andreas Stories if Vice City Stories is succesfull.
thatsoccerguy
I think they will do a San Andreas Stories if Vice City Stories is succesfull. good point. and there is no doubt in my mind that VCS will blow its predecessor away in terms of sales. if customers react to VCS like they did LCS, that alone would probably give enough funding for GTA4. IMO SAS is inevitable, unless of course the company is sued for millions because of "Hot Coffee".

The-end
I doubt that they will be working on it now, Rockstar leeds will probly be still in the developing stage of VCS. Ofcourse they will be towards the end of it. thatsoccerguy, yeah I have no doubt that VCS will be as succesfull as LCS infact I think it will be more succesfull now that people know the PSP is cable of runing awsome games. Vice City was many GTA fans faviroute, and it was also personally myne. Mainly because of it's awsome storyline. This could be a seling point for VCS. If SAS dos happen, it will probly go into production early 2008 or late 2007.

The-end
That woudl require having to re-buy the machine and I doubt anyone would do that to play a game. There again they could always overclock the CPU to 333 instead of 222, that doubled the framerate in LCS so I am sure they could use that as an advantage for SAS. They could always just decrease the quality of the models by somewhat more than they allready would have to.

They could always just decrease the quality of the models by somewhat more than they allready would have to. the psp isnt being overclocked when you put the cpu speed to 333. thats its limit and games can run off of it with ease. anything beyond 333 is overclocking. psp is generally more powerful than the ps2 if allowed to run at full speed, but right now sony doesnt allow it. who knows maybe in the future wikipedia The PlayStation Portable's main microprocessor is a multifunction device that includes a MIPS R4000-based CPU, hardware for multimedia decoding (such as H.264), as well as a vector unit dubbed "Virtual Mobile Engine". The MIPS CPU core is globally clocked between 1 and 333 MHz. During the 2005 GDC, Sony revealed that it had capped the PlayStation Portable's CPU clock at 222 MHz in software. Its reasons for doing so are unknown, but are the subject of some speculation. Various homebrew tools enable users to operate at 333 MHz, generally leading to a higher framerate at the expense of battery life.
The-end
I know that it was desinged to run at 333, but as its set at 222 it is techincly overclocking the CPU, atleast it is in my books. I always though that getting more power out of a CPU or GFX card then what its set as is overclocking.
matthew1g
SAS could fit easily on the UMD. high textures could be reduced since the psp has a smaller screen. They can cut off loads of the pedestrian speech. Each ped had 1 hour of speech. That can be reduced to 10 mins IT's possible on this system
Seddo
plus u could rid of most of the side missions, and get rid of some of the music stations and songs
The-end
No that really isn't needed, the side missions would take up around 500kb there just script's. Taking away, or making the radio short would suck. The radio is all part of the GTA exsperience.
AngelDude
I'm sure if there was SAS that Tommy Vercetti will star in it. Seeing as he was boss of Vice City in 1986 and still alive in 1992 there has to be something about him in 1989. I think that would work, judging by the fact that most of the stories games seem to be 3 years before their ps2 games.

The-end
30 mins? They seem longer, I allways thought they were an hour long. But yeah SAS could just have cut radios.

Well either that, or I'm out of ideas. They could use their amazing gypsy magic abilities that a load of people think they have these days. I guess it'll probably take place during CJ's absense, you might see their other brother get killed, a face put on their mother, the downfall of Grove Street. Would be mondo interesting. CaliMex
Let's see here, since SA was a lot bigger than LC and VC, Rockstar might just use the 3rd original city that was in GTA (the first) which was San Andreas (San Fierro now). So it might be based in a better version of San Fierro. It could also be based on LS since it looked like it was the main city (it felt like it had more to do with the storyline) in SA. I think Las Venturas may not be chosen over the other games since it felt like more could have been added but that could also be a reason to choose it over the others. At another glance, since it looks like Rockstar is milking this generation of GTA they might actually make 3 more games for the PSP. Each game would be based on each of the 3 cities in SA and they would come out with 1 game each year. I think this is very likely but we will have to wait and see. ScoobyDoo82
Heres a thought, how about we wait until VCS comes out before we start talking about SAS. I mean come on, yeah im sure it will be awesome but let VCS come out first.

NOO, NOO, NOOO! san andreas is only worthy of the name it has if it still remains one whole state overwise its worthless. the thing that everyone loved and still loves about san andreas is the ability to get lost in the woods or no-matter how much you play the game. You still still end up finding more and more suff ingame and if the state was cut doen into its 3 cities i think no-one will buy it. And its its only worth rockstar bringing sa on the psp if people buy it and i know a lot more will buy it if its still one big state ps.isnt there going to be a psp2 coming out in 2008, i think that will be fine with san andreas really mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno. jake6
maybe carcer city stories. was manhunt a freeroam game? like they already made the whole city or not? if they did make the whole city in it they could use that but if not then they could make a new city and put in places from manhunt and they could make it bigger than vc, but i dont know about sanandreas stories there wernt that many places in sa i liked, only small parts of the city. also just because its in sa doesnt mean it will have all the features. i would rather have a new city then back to sanandres unless it took place far from 1992 and they changed alot of the state.
