gillies
The file should be at My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files\gta_sa.set

gillies
Do you have an account on the computer that is an administrator? You apparently need an administrative account to install and run the game, and this may affect what it does with the files it needs to work properly... Justin
The SET file is only generated upon running the game (i.e. actual gameplay). So if your game crashes before you can start a new game, you'll find there isn't a SET file in the User Files folder.
J3LM3R
It could be something else: I had the same problem when I installed SA for the first time. It turned out that my onboard soundcard wasn't installed or good enough for the game so I bought and installed a new soundcard; and the game worked. Try looking at your hardware I think thats your problem. (just see if everything is installed properly and works ok) i think i give up soon , just alot problems with this game anyways... Don't give up on SA to soon. I'm having troubles with it but I still won't give up on SA (my savedgames don't work ) Just keep trying, you'll find the problem.
