Besides, it would probably go tons faster if they deleted all of the 0-post members from years ago. Trust me, the last thing I want to do is place my hands near any of your penises. Second, I can't see the PGC. Which means that I can't give you a good explanation. My best guess is that they are optimizing the database, and the best way to do that would be remove the section of the forums that have the largest chunk of database-heart-attack inducing threads. sh*t, a good 75% of the threads in that area have over 1000 posts, which should be the cutoff point before you start getting sql errors. Personally, I think if we started a "close your topic at 1000 posts and start a new one" rule, then we'd have to deal a lot less with this db optimization bullsh*t. But, if it were DELETED, I would think that everyone would have lost a chunk of their total post count, which didn't happen. So I imagine it's just binned, which means it's retrievable...I think.
