.exe won't launch

I downloaded Prey_Demo.exe and Fear_spdemo_en.exe during the night, but for some reason, when I double click the icons (or press enter on them) they don't launch. I look in the task manager's process list, and when I click it, it says 'Prey_Demo.exe' is running, then, all of a sudden, a second 'Prey_demo.exe' is running, then they both close and nothing else happens.

 

Everything else is working fine, bittorrent, firefox, wmp, ie, msn, steam, xfire, daemontools, games.

Possibly a corrupt download? Or your Pc cannot handle it?

It should be far more than enough. 2 gigs of ram, and a 3800+ dualcore (and a 7900GT). I doubt the download is corrupt cause it's happening for two files, not just one, and it's quite a coincidence if it is a corrupt dl.

Are you trying to open it through your browser/download manager? Try going to the folder you saved it in and open it maybe...

Where did you download them from?

Try Filefront.com or Fileshack.com

 

And it can still be the download, but not a fault on your end, it could be server side.

I've downloaded demos and patches from a server once and they were all bad. The next day then shut down for maintenance. Come back a couple days later, tried the same files for grins and they were perfectly fine.
