i dont see what your opinion has to do with debating and discussing, but even if it is "just" your opinion, you think that way for a reason, correct?

why dont they pull out? because that doesnt make sense? because there are americans in Iraq and interests in iraq and stability in iraq is something we all want.

If Iraq invaded "us" - you? who are you?

I could ask you the same question, who are you ?

We should have never went to Iraq in the first place, we can't gather much interest by bombing innocent people, loads have been killed.

Well I detest to say the truth at times, but I am sure that at least I did NOT, I say again NOT, go to Iraq.

-now maybe you did, as part of the army, some aid force, maybe as a tourist? because I am truly wondering why you keep saying that you went to iraq.

As to the many people killed by bombs, well... "Loads" of people are killed anyway, by robberies gone bad, by crazy people, by stray bullets in a gang war, by suicide, by diseases, poisons, by famine.

-Famine for example seems to be something that could be solved by charity. Disease as well.

And if you think the only thing the invasion of iraq did was kill innocent people, you are mistaken, it was a change of the people in control of the country.

People who used to be in control of Iraq killed fewer people than the invasion did. There was also more food, better health care, and there was no constantly ongoing civil war that kept killing people. If US troops went in, killed some people, but gave freedom to the rest, and made their lives so much better, yeah, maybe it would have been worth it. But their lives aren't better, and people who are afraid for their lives 24/7 are hardly free. I don't really know if it would make sense to pull out now, but US did not need to invade in the first place. At very least, not the way they did - with insufficient forces and poor planning.

Now for some reason you want to discuss the war in Iraq. I am not sure you relate it to charity in any way, buy I think in some ways enlightening people is charity, educating people is charity, discussing with people is charity, talking to people is charity. But I guess that's a very broad definition of charity.

But I think I found a way!

The US tried to help Iraq (charity) by invading their country toppling their dictator and instituting a different order.

I never said that the war in Iraq was wrong or right, merely that just because "loads of people died" that did not make the invasion right or wrong.

Charity is by it's very nation right, but it can be done wrong. Just because people are helped by charity does not make it right, it's rightness must be judged counting the bigger picture.

As to the specific details of the War in Iraq, I don't know if their lives are better, whether they are afraid for their lives 24/7 today nor whether they were in the past. It does seem that the war was conducted with poor planning, the american army wasn't prepared for guerrilla warfare and was more prepared for gulf-war style war.

It doesn't seem in any case that anybody is an expert in nationbuilding, I don't think a nation has built another or tried to in the history of humanity.

Money put towards africa is one sided...people give money,to help look after the extremly poor there, but the reason why nothing seems to be changing at a decent rate is because most of that money goes towards the goverment there, that swallows it up and gives it to people for weapons, and drugs and rich africans who dont need it at all... I think that if money is to be given there, then charities should find a way to be able to direct the money straight to the villages,or companys that give food and water and protection to those people, cut out that selfish greedy middle man.

Im sick and tired of seeing adverts on tv,showing sick hungry africans and then saying all it takes is to give money...cause its not that easy, cause they wont get that money, some drug factories and weapons dealers will tho sad.gif

As for giving money to things like protecting animals and such, and poor families in our own countries, also disease charities, those shouldnt be questioned...everyday lots of people spend their well earned money, which is their right, and all the power to them, but surely some spare £'s or $'s wouldnt be so hard to give, esp if we all pitch in wink.gif
