s1lentGFX
Ok, I've beaten the game before, but now im tryin 2 do it without ANY cheat codes, which has been proven a wee bit more difficult than I had previously thought... Current set of missions - Azuka - The Mission where you must destory the car of the police informant. Kenji - The Grand Theft Auto mission. Donald Love - The Mission where you must rescue his friend from the Cartel. Ray - The Mission where you must kill the police informant. Im Wondering what would be easiest to complete, or even better, how can I do them without cheats?
rav0
You should post what is making the missions difficult for you. You can check out some web guides. Guides: Grand Theft Auto III Guide (PS2) GTA3 walkthrough by tfads.com

Pump Bumper
Ray - The Mission where you must kill the police informant. is that the one where you have to throw a 'nade into the guys window, over by the bomb shop and pay n spray? if so, it's pretty easy so i'd go with that i guess. shouldn't take more than 3 throws, unless you really suck at throwing grenades. and if you're especially good at driving without hitting anything, grand theft auto is good. i love that mission
liesofsilence
Ray - The Mission where you must kill the police informant. is that the one where you have to throw a 'nade into the guys window, over by the bomb shop and pay n spray? if so, it's pretty easy so i'd go with that i guess. shouldn't take more than 3 throws, unless you really suck at throwing grenades. and if you're especially good at driving without hitting anything, grand theft auto is good. i love that mission That Ray mission,. just block the entry to the street on your left with a few cars and you'll be OK. The informant will always go that way. If you block that entry, just blow up the cars and mission complete.
GTA_Loco
Some tips which might be helpful: 1. Two Faced Tanner It's funny how Asuka described the target here as a "strangely animated character" obviously a sarcastic stab on the game "Driver". Anyways, you might want to use a Rhino also which you can get one already if you do Ray's mission Arms Shortage first. Assuming you have successfuly saved a Rhino in your garage, when you begin Asuka's mission, drive the tank in the blue field beside which is your target's car, facing the direction where he would speed away. As soon as he tries to escape, just blast him away and you're done with the bugger. 2. Grand Theft Auto You must pinpoint first the locations of the cars you must steal. Since you have to rely only on your in-game radar, it could be difficult to locate them if you're not that familiar yet with the route. To make matters more difficult, this mission is even timed. You can try failing the mission a few times and see which car is located nearest to your mission starting point, as well as the shortest route going to the garage where you must store them. 3. Liberator Before you enter the compound, snipe some Colombian gangsters you can see through the gate from outside. Enter the compound carefully, snipe the remaining ones you see positioned behind some crates who were alerted by your gunshots. Be sure though to pinpoint beforehand in which garage the old man is being kept. If I remember it correctly, it's the garage you immediately see infront of you once you enter the compound. There will be a couple of Colombians guarding him, just ran them over and take the old man with you back to Donald Love. 4. Silence the Sneak or Gone Fishing? Silence the Sneak: Block the garage door of your target's apartment with a Stretch or a van. Once the garage door opens, after you flush him out with some grenades, throw more grenades at him while he struggles to get past the blockage to finish the job. you can do him away even before he can leave the place. Gone fishing is pretty much simple. Just chase your target once he is alerted and shoot the boat until it catches fire and explode. That would waste him too and complete the mission. Jason290
I thought that these missions were quite tough too, although once this 'round' of missions is done, I think you should find the next a little easier.
Jordan
I usually play through the Portland missions then get bored afterwards...the Portland missions were so solid.
Snake Without a Tongue
The only ones I ever had trouble with was the last mission where you have to shoot the airplane and the portland payphone mission. The last one where you have to drive the van. I still cheat to beat that one. The checkpoint sidemissions suck, but otherwise GTA3 is the easiest of the series. Sean McC
Yeah, the first time through, I cheated (Not many don't). But the more you play and the better you get, you can complete it without cheats and that makes it all the more rewarding.
