ISd3d
I've never had any disc reading problems with my PS2. I put LCS in and play it for a couple of hours and I turn it off. Next time I try to play it, I get a Disc Read Error. I look at the disc and there's a scratch that goes all the way around the disc, and It won't play. So I think it's my system, right? But when I put in other games, they work perfectly fine and don't get any scratch. I exchange it for another copy, put it in for literally two minutes and take it out to check it. Already there is a small scratch starting. I'm pretty sure a bad batch was made.
Isuck100%
That scares me. I got LCS yesterday and I too played it for a few hours, but I have yet to play again today. Now I'm afraid my disc is going to have a scratch too.

GTA3Freak-2001
How old is your PS2? I know from experience that the older models have quite litrally crappy laser system that can and will give games permanent scratches around the edge. A good selection of my games have it, Gran Turismo 3 has a even scratch around the edge but luckily still works. You could try cleaning the lens of the laser which will require opening it up but there are plenty of easy to follow tutorials on the net to follow. Yes, older PS2's especially after the 3 year mark are quite literally on their last legs for disc reading. For awhile now we have known the issues of older PS2's, Mine died last year over San Andreas and then the laser went completely dead until I recently got a new PS2 (slimmed version) which works a lot better because of quality over time. If WD-40 on the laser bars don't help and cleaning the laser itself with a q-tip fails, I would be wary about buying another game and try saving up for a new PS2. Even though I'm not getting scratches on any other games, I guess it must be the system. Could you link me to one of those tutorials? I'll give it a try. Definitly not buying a new system now. Yeah, it's to late in the game for a new one.
Win98crash
Could you link me to one of those tutorials? Hmm, I wouldn't think a dirty laser would cause scratching on the disc, but it may not hurt to clean it. Two decent pages I found: http://www.tweak3d.net/articles/ps2repair/index.shtml http://www.saveware.com/ps2_laser_clean.htm I've cleaned the laser on a few systems and it's pretty simple if you take your time. I didn't have to adjust the laser it at all on the ones I cleaned and have used audio cassette/vcr head cleaner solution if I didn't have alcohol.
