shilob
My sound card is a onboard Vinyl ac97 sound card. When I am ingame I get this nasty clicking crackling sound. This is the only game I have that problem with. I have tried all the fixes but nothing works. I have tried the Realtek drivers because that is compatible. With the Realtek drivers that sound goes away but I lose sounds in rainstorms. Any suggestions for either problem?
crazyanurag
well, without a dedicated EAX-support sound card, the issue of sounds cutting out, going out of sync, and generally playing up has been a perennial one with me...in fact, this was noted in the game's review(PC) at Gamespot...updation of drivers is the best you can do, and you'll have to bear with the occasional sound problems... Check and see if you have these drivers on Disc that came with your PC if not you can download them from the C-media website. Look for ver. (5.12.1.23) If not try driverguide.com. I found that these drivers work better than Realtech or VIA . After installing these drivers goto to control panel/sound/advance and on speaker setup select Quadraphonic Speakers even if you only have 2 speakers. The crackling sound should be history. Note: For best results use Driver Cleaner to competely remove all previous drivers here: http://www.drivercleaner.net/ Hope this help please give feedback either way.
