I laughed a couple of times though, which i'm not sure was the idea behind it so i dont think it fully achieved what it was meant to do, but apart from the random laughing at parts it was a very good film. At least in my eyes, i know some people didn't like it because of certain parts in the story. Suprisingly it was rated 15 here though i thought it had the content to be classed as an 18. Scared me good a few times, notably when they are in the graveyard and find the graves and the guy gets attacked by the dog and the dream sequences, particularly where the wife turns the mirror and sees whatever that thing is in a red robe. I thought that was only supposed to be on the son of the beast. •Kinda didn't get the whole 'son of a jackal' thing. That never really came into play, short of all the dogs protecting him or something. •What was with the 'Final Destination' type death scenes? Specifically the one where the guy dies from the explosion after the truck spills gas all over his car. Why was that guy destined to die? Was it so the main character (forget his name) could take his job, thereby fulfilling the prophecy in the bible about politics or whatever? Don't know if this answers your question or not, but when they went to the graveyard in Italy, they found the grave with the Jackal in it, which was actually Damien's mother. I guess Damien used someone to kill the mother's actual baby and replaced it with himself. •What was with the 'Final Destination' type death scenes? He died so Damien's father could move to a higher position of power, so that Damien could eventually kill his father when his father becomes president after moving through the ranks I guess and Damien would have a jumpstart in the political world.
