Ive been asking now for 3 monthes and no one wants to tell me and im about to go mad if I don’t get an answer soon! Please help me with a little step by step tut just to show me how to map the lights before I give up on modding all together! Some one out there knows how to do it! Will you be the one to bring that little ray of sunshine to my dark modding world? PLEASE HELP ME! PLEASE! tried to post pics of model and pic of lights128.txd but cant get them on! im using 3dmax7 so PLEASE answer this one thing for me PLEASE! Suction Testicle Man Posted June 6, 2006 Share Posted June 6, 2006 With all due respect, you're less likely to get a better response if your post spends more time describing how long you've been trying to find an answer then what your question actually is. As far as I can tell you don't mean the dummies, you mean actually getting the headlights to use illuminated textures when in game. This is very simple - export the headlight texture from the vehicles.txd file in models/generic in Targa .tga format. The texture is called something like vehiclelights128.tga, you don't need the one called vehiclelights128on.tga. Now load this texture up to your material in Max, and skin the model using a portion of the texture. All you need to do now is export your model once finished in the usual way, and you don't have to add vehiclelights128.tga to your car's txd. As long as you keep the texture's filename the same, the game will load it out of the vehicles.txd when in game, and switch the texture around in exchange for the on one to give the illuminated effect.
