Thinking of getting LCS

I've been a GTA fan for a long time now but I didn't know about LCS until walking into a GAME store at the weekend. We've just bought a PS 2 and noticed it's due out in a couple of weeks over here in the UK.

 

Is LCS for the PS2 the same as PSP and is it any good? I also read in the strategy guide that there are no planes, is this true? And if it is, is the game still ok without the planes?

Yeah LCS for the PS2 is out on Friday 23rd June in the UK and the rest of Europe.

 

It is the same game as the PSP version, which in many gamer’s eyes is the best PSP game currently. A recent review of the PS2 version gave it 8 out of 10 and with a budget price of £20 and even cheaper on Internet retailers its a bargain.

 

There are no planes, which have stirred up mixed feelings, many believe that even a return of the Dodo from GTA 3 would have been better than nothing. As for other air vehicles there are Police helicopters but you cannot fly them yourself. There is a mission in the game, which you do get to fly a helicopter but it's for that mission only.

 

I'd still rate the game highly without planes, as mentioned above GTA 3 only had the Dodo and many people gave up trying to fly it due to awkward controls. The biggest good point in the game is the inclusion of motorbikes and Liberty City is probably GTA fans favorite city/setting.

So no planes and no helis, I wonder why that is. I spend a lot of time in San Andreas flying around and stuff but I suppose the most interesting action always happens on the ground.

I dont think that GTA 3 or Liberty City for taht matter, atleast in LCS, they want you to get the, your here in LC, you were always, not, REVAMPED YES, BLAM, they couldve, but why? lol, so, there really isnt any cloud animation, text or anything, excpet for a few puffs of clouds you see...its not saying that GTA has lost it, its saying, heres LCS for hte time being, were gonna give u something 10x better next year

 

and i hate the police in this game, DAMN U SPIKE STRIPS ha

Planes and helis are not in the game because the original GTA3 didn't have tops on 90% of the buildings. they would have had to rebuild 1/2 the map to fix that and decided to leave it out and focus on just making a GTA3 prequel that had a few extras.

 

The game is VERY good and I still play it after owning it 7 months. VCS will likely add helis and dodo back in but not swimming or jets. Which is fine with me. I liked SA, but most of the air travel stuff took me way too far out of the streets and felt out of place. But I would hope they put the jetpack in VCS. It was fun and would work fine within VCS's low ceiling setup.

 

If you go into LCS expecting a good game that plays almost exactly like GTA3 plus motorcycles but with a good new storyline and all new missions you won't be dissapointed. Some of the missions are too easy but others are not. Depends on how well you use the controller. If you go in expecting an upgrade from SA, don't bother, this isn't the game you're looking for. That game comes out in Oct 07.

 

Expect the same from VCS. New missions, storyline and a slightly different map.
