Nitrotic
Hi. I only just bought the game not too long ago, and I have me a problem. See, the area around Toreno's ranch is imaginary. And the ranch itself is poorly rendered. Naturally, the two are in some way linked, something to do with not loading what it was supposed to load, but my question is how can I fix this? It's gonna be REALLY hard to keep doing missions if I can't go visit Toreno. Incidently, the last mission I did was Interdiction, then it screwed up and I went off and did Zero's missions. Oh, and the T on my minimap is not the vibrant and decadent white it should be, rather the dull and lifeless grey of a shirt overwashed. crazyanurag
try updating the drivers for your graphics card, and play on low-medium display settings...it would've been easier had you posted more information about your hardware, though... and don't worry about the T...Mike's not that clean a chap anyways ... Nitrotic
Sorry, I should have mentioned. I just upgraded to an ATI RADEON 9600 XT, and I play at Very High because I can (Had a Radeon 9200... Hate that clip effect on the pedestrians). I have 512 RAM and Windows XP, System Pack 2.
crazyanurag
well, you do have good enough specs to pull you through at Very High display...i don't really know what's causing this, but you might try updating your graphics card's drivers for one, and lowering Draw Distance to about Medium-High for another(as mentioned above)... but when you say that the area around the ranch is "imaginary", do you mean that you plunge into Blue Hell? because i never knew of an entrance to Blue Hell from around the area of Toreno's ranch...where do you fall through? or is it that you go into an infinite loop of falling and not recovering? crazyEdit: if all else fails, try an uninstall and reinstall to see if it improves... Nitrotic
Well, the ground is imaginary. I can see it, but nobody else can. Cars crossing the bridge from the desert plummet into the water, as do I, and if I swim far enough inland, I plummet and am eventually placed back on REAL land. It's an interesting phenomenon. It's an interesting phenomenon. you bet...all that comes to mind is that maybe some files might be missing and/or are corrupt...hopefully, you didn't install any mods? your best option then is to reinstall the game, and see if everything works out fine... i've heard of texture loading problems being solved by driver updates, but this is quite unique...still, try upgrading to the latest drivers... Nitrotic
Well at any rate, turning down the detail helped. I wonder why, but now that I'm past it, San Andreas awaits. On a barely related note, I hate Toreno and his N.O.E mission. I've finished it, but I hate that plane. That is all.
crazyanurag
well, i'm glad you got it sorted out...enjoy the rest of the game...and yeah, about N.O.E....well, it's hard at first, but you'll get used to it...a lot more flying to be done in any case... Plaka
When you install new hardware the Game won't recognise it so first delete your gta_sa.set and see if it then works or uninstall / reinstall.
