Majestic
If by "bf2 on high" you mean at least 1280x1024, everything on High, with antialising and aniso, then you need to buy a new computer. Or at least a new motherboard, videocard, cpu, and (more) memory.

Wolf68k
Don't worry about trying to play the game at the highest settings possible. It's a waste of time. Not sure what you're using to get your specs list but that's odd to see the RAM listed as 1000MB when it should say 1024MB. At any rate... Get another 1GB oF RAM that's a must of BF2. The CPU is crap and a Socket754 mobo doesn't help much either. I've got no idea where you live but if it's in the USA, for about $200 you can go to Newegg.com and get an AMD 64 3200+ Socket939 and an ASRock mobo that supports both AGP and PCIE graphic slots which can save you some money and time for now by being able to upgrade the CPU and mobo without having to buy new GFX card at the same time. Speaking the GFX card you should be able to do fairly well with that card. No you can't go full high settings even if you get the added RAM and the better CPU and mobo. However you should be able to turn things up a good bit with that combo. Edit your post and remove your MAC address. Might not seems like that big of a deal but a knowledgable person can use that to more easily access your WiFi access point. And you never know who on the board lives near you....better safe than sorry. In fact just because it's useless info to help us just delete everything from "Partitions" down. San Andreas Nut
Thanks Wolf68k I live in Australia, I just typed my memory in its sposed 2 be 1024mb , on noes someone got my MAC addy now?!
|Zephyr|
Are you going to upgrade your computer then? If so, I suppose Ebay is the cheapest 'site' to buy from in australia, theres no big site like newegg here Anyway heres some links for you PROCESSOR THE MOTHERBOARD WOLF WAS TALKING ABOUT RAM Now, if you werent to upgrade your ram just yet, that what, $325 with postage roughly, and you will be running a pretty decent system for now. 1 GB ram will run bf2, just when you get the money or whatever it's strongly recommended that you get an extra 1 GB. So, what you looking at doing anyway?
San Andreas Nut
Thankyou Zephyr thats another $407 with the ram and sadly I cannot afford that atm, Im only 15 and im lookin for work so atm I dont got sh*t all money :-( Thankyou very much for the research much appreciated I shall be havin a look on ebay when I get some cash, the sad thing is my dad just bought me this system about a month ago and he doesnt think anything needs to be changed, but I am defo getting some more ram. Sixdust
Well yes BF2 is a resource hog. Most pre-built pcs never cut it, when it comes to having good hardware and gaming. Let alone that most are dtill using last-gen technology.
Majestic
Do yourself a favor and DONT buy ASRock motherboards. Same goes for ECS motherboards.
San Andreas Nut
@Majestic: okie @Sixdust: yer mine was pre built , but i convinced my dad to get another 512mb ram and instead of the Nvidia 5000 sumthing, I got him to get me the 6600 but now I realise my CPU is crap oh well cant win em all. At least I can play BF2 on med. settings with minimum lag
Cran.
The 6600 is REALLY outdated, if you were trying to get something newer, you should have gotten like a 7600 GT. That would have atleast made the game run on High-ish settings You gotta stop living in the past
Wolf68k
7600GT won't do him any good since he has a AGP slot.
