xtal256
Hi, i downloaded some mods for GTAIII and tried to add them. Also, i tried to add roads, etc using a map editor. But when i go to run the game, it crashes on loading. However, it only crashes with some objects (etc, crashes with bridges, roads but not with small objects like barrels, crates, stairs) . Does anyone know why? Also when i add a mod, i have to change the object numbers at the start of each line in the ipl and ide files, but i don't know what to change them to. Someone please help me, thanks
Suction Testicle Man
All objects will require different numbers at the beginning of their ipl/ide files to prevent crashes. Search for information on which numbers are available for extra objects, or download a map mod for GTA3 and look at the numbers it uses. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.
xtal256
Yes, but can the numbers just be any unused number or does it have to match the position in the img file. I'm not exactly an expert at this, but the gta3.dir file contains indexing info to tell it where all the files are in the gta3.img file am i right. If so, wouldn't the ide and ipl files have to tell the game where to find it in the img file. I seem to have tried everything so any help would be much appreciated, thanx
