Buying a new laptop.

Alright, I didn't know whether this was worth a new topic, but anyway...

 

I'm thinking about getting a laptop.

 

I have never owned one before so this is my first buy. And I will be buying locally not off the internet.

 

So, I've picked THIS one out. It looks pretty good to me. I can get it for $2100 AUD. My first question is, what is the dual core 1.66 ghZ CPU in relation to a single core, or can't you measure it like that?

 

This machine should be pretty decent for doing a bit of online gaming yeah?

 

My second question is about the wireless. At the moment I have an ADSL router. Now, I've been told that I could but a Wireless router, hook it up to the ADSL router and were away. But I think thats silly. For the sake of about $30, I can get a wireless ADSL/ADSL2 router. This would be my better option yeah?

 

So when thats set up, my 2 desktop computers plug into the router, the laptop goes wirelessly and the router into the phone line yeah?

 

And when the router is on and everything is set up, will my laptop just be connected to the internet when I turn it on, like the computer I'm on now is?

 

Lastly, If anyone knows of another laptop which would be better in performance for around the same price, could you link me and I will get a price from town.
