Sometimes after you fail a mission, where you are required to drive somewhere, when you retry the mission and you get in a car you can press(I believe right on th d-pad) for PS2 to skip the trip. Similar to the Taxi in VC.

Which part?

Because on, if you passed the part where you got out of the crackhouse, you can go save the game.

And when you go back, it'll start with the carchase.

actually, during "End of the Line", it is possible to save at two places if you die, once as mentioned before, and once if you fail to get out after killing Smoke...for the latter, the mission starts from the cutscene of Tenpenny starting the fire at the Crack Palace...so the 'Trip Skip's here act more like sui generis checkpoints...

I discovered that my 2nd time through (just last week). The first time I never beat that mission, I always let you know who get you know what (I don't know the tags to black it out) and had to go through the whole damn thing again.

Then onece I just kept driving and fooled around and saved. Came back the next day and discovered that I didn't have to go through all that again, and finally beat it. But my dumb ass somehow forgot to save, and now I have to do it again to beat it.

Fail the mission first by either letting Tenpenny escape or getting wasted, then save it.

exactly...in fact, if you fail the mission during the chase, and go to the marker to start the mission again, instead of reloading from your last save, you'll start from the chase...

I think as soon as you step into the yellow marker after crashing through the wall regardless of how you fail the mission then, you'll be prompted to the chase scene already once your restart the mission.
