Color Problem

ok i just bought this computer off my dads friend and the color is all f*cked up, theres only blue black yellow and white everything thats red or green is black or blue and i tried adjusting it changing the setting and nothin aint workin, please help

First we need to know if the fault is the monitor or the PC.

If you have a known properly working monitor around, hook it up to the PC and seewhat happens.

If it's all good then we know the monitor is bad. If it's still bad then the video card could be bad.

 

 

 

The monitor should have some settings on it to adjust various things.

Try first using the degauss, which for the on-screen display would be an icon that looks like a U-shaped magnet in a circle with a line through it or just the line through it.

Like this;

 

Then try the reset option. This varies even more. Mine is a circle with an arrow head on it.

 

If that doesn't fix the "bad" monitor, then nothing will...not including a trip to the repair shop which might end costing more than the monitor is worth.

Yea its the monitor cuz i switch my mom computers so i can play SA on it, and i tried degauss like 3 times and it does nothing, and i dont know if i take a pic of my screen if it will look like it does on mine as it does yours but i doubbt it. Thanks for the help though
