If it didn't work on 2.7, what makes you think it would work on the even newer version? It's probably patched up even more. Although I'm not too sure of that, since Firmware 2.01 and 2.5 had the exactly the same security. Oh well, anyway, no. Read for more explanation. However, it's just a theory, but it it may be something worth looking into... what the patch does is it checks the savegame's filesize and if it is larger than what gta can handle (which is the exploit) then it won't allow it to run.
