Nargaroth
I used the search feature and found a similar problem to mine, however the poster's problem got solved by rebooting and is not my case, so i must ask... How can i turn on my onboard sound? I just changed the whole case (motherboard, processor, RAM, etc) but used the same hard disk that i had on my previous computer, i only had to "repair" XP on the instalation. The problem is that my PC doesnt recognize any sound device (i dont have a sound card on this motherboard) and i cant play music. Is there a special way to turn on the onboard sound? Is it by BIOS or something? Any help is greatly appreciatted...
|Zephyr|
What is the make and model of your motherboard. Yes, the setting will be in the BIOS. To enter the bios, when you start up your computer it will tell you how to enter (usually delete key). Most likely under 'Integrated Peripherals' then AC97 Audio. This will probably be disabled, so enabled it. Then save and exit the bios (F10) and your computer restart, hopefully with sound! If that doesn't work, you will need to find the audio driver for your motherboard, which is why I asked for the make and model! Nargaroth
I managed to enable it, it was a problem with the drivers. Thanx a lot!
