~Neon~
Still on 1.5 here and I aint budging. Well at least not untill I get my hands on that mod chip. I realy have no need to upgrade at the moment. I can play LCS and all the other 2.0 games that I own (Pro Evo 5, Virtua Tennis and SSX) plus all of the great homebrew. I mostly use my PSP now as a media player. There is this one homebrew that can play almost any video file below a certain resolution. Its fantastic, Ill never give it up.

Kippers
I'll only update from 2.6 if it comes free with a game sometime soon. I don't give 2 figs about the extra stuff on the psp, i just bought it for the games 習うより慣れろ
Hell No..
You have to Upgrade to 2.6 to play MGA 2. Bit silly I think. But how does one downgrade? I'm on Twitch! Are you? Come say Hi. https://www.twitch.tv/priceyryan

~Neon~
But how does one downgrade? You can only downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5.
just another thug
I'm on 2.0, becuase all the homebrew you can play on 1.5 is on 2.0 with the buffer exploit. Plus on 2.0 you get the official Sony web browser.
Grandthefter
I'm an updater, i dont care much for homebrew. I tried it once, got a couple of fps on mario and gave up trying. Been updating since just so then i can say its newer really. I dunno much about the technology behind the psp but is there any chance that in a future update they'll allow .avi and .wmv files? Save me converting everything?
~Neon~
I dunno much about the technology behind the psp but is there any chance that in a future update they'll allow .avi and .wmv files? Save me converting everything? Its not about the technology of the PSP as to what video files it can play, its up to Sony. There is already homebrewed software that can play these files so it would be no problem for Sony to include it in a new firmware. Alot of people are put off by the fact that they have to convert all their videos first, I dont understand why Sony dont include the playback of all the popular formats. the_darkside_986
Yeah I can't figure out why sony chose mp4 over mpeg. Who on earth uses mp4's for video? I guess it has something to do with patents. I doubt wmv's will ever play on the PSP because that is a Windows Media format and well... you know how that is. I tried homebrew on my 2.6 PSP but most of it doesn't work. snes9x runs too slow. I'm still not ever going to update because firmware upgrades are simply a way that Sony oppresses its customers. Why did they bother with 2.71 when 2.7 hasn't been hacked yet. (or has it?) I don't think Sony will ever get the PSP fully hack-proof since the encryption is not built into the CPU like it is on the Xbox 360, but in the rewritable firmware instead.
