I'm happy with the way the effects are looking, and there's still about nine months left to work on them. Â Ghostrider speeding down the streets and the parking meters melting was cool, same with riding up the building. I really like the look of the old west Ghost Rider too. In the comics it continuously changed over the years, from turning into Ghost Rider within the presence of evil, turning at will, turning at night etc. Â I'm really not sure where they're going with it in this, but it seems like he may have some control over it, based on the 'let's ride' part. But that might be from the end of the film or may have been filmed for the trailer alone. So.. I dunno. Â For those who don't really know what it is, Johhny Blaze (Nic Cage) sold his soul when he was young to save the life of his father (I think), so he ends up unwilingly becoming hells bounty hunter, chasing down escaped demons and what not. I've read some scenes that sound like they're gonna be pretty awesome, one of the demons who is evidently water based sends a tidal wave at Ghostrider, he gets submerged, the demon is standing there and then you see a glow under the water behind him, as nothing can extinguish hellfire. Another has Ghost Rider Lassoing a police helicopter, and another where Johnny is taken to jail and put in a cell with a bunch of criminals, then all hell breaks loose. Â Although Ghost Rider was pretty much always a B list character at best, he's always had a cult status, presumably with motor cycle riders and the like. Like Silver Surfer in a way. Ewww... not too keen on that but looks great Try telling that to the numpties on the IMDB boards, boy do they have sand in their hoo-hoo's. The FX does look quite good, although maybe a little tweaking but it's still a good few months till its' release so this is only a teaser trailer not the full 'OMG' thing.  It looks pretty good so far, and I'm not usually that fussed about comic tie-in films but this looks OK, and I'm not just talking about Eva Mendes being in it (although the girl playing the Young Roxanne, Raquel Alessi, looks pretty tidy too, but I say this in hindsight until someone adds a birthdate )  GC  Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Regardless it looks very cool and as much as people seem to hate Nicolas Cage I've always found him good in whatever he's in. My favorite comic book character is never appreciated enough, badass chain weilding flaming skull and flaming harley rider, He sold his soul to help his dieing father, but the demon sort of tricked him, he asked for his dad not to die from the disease he was in the hospital for, and so the demonl granted him his wish, but then the demon turned on him, and had his dad die from something else, and then came back to collect what was his.. Hopefully Johnny Blaze will kickass in the movie and not be a giant wanker. By the way, I own a crapload of comics, all of which are great, and this one is one of my favorites and is such an underated comic. I didn't even know what he looked like until I saw that teaser trailer. Honestly though, all the Ghost Rider fans are talking about how they don't agree with ghost Rider being played by Nicholas Cage. Since I have no knowledge of Ghost Rider, Nicholas Cage is one of the reasons I was convinced to check it out. He's definately one of my favorite actors. Informant X Posted June 22, 2006 Share Posted June 22, 2006 Since all these great Marvel films is being made, they should consider Cable (the comic character, not cable t.v.) sometime in the future. There is a great storyline behind him and since one of the deadliest mutant villians of all has yet to be seen on any of the X-men films, Apocalypse would be a great villian on the silver screen.
