MissileDefender
I'm trying to install some vechile and weapon skills for San Andreas. Ive sucessfully done weapon and vechile installation for VC a while back, but now in SA it crashes. I get as far as opening the GTA3.img using the IMGtool (v2), extract the orginal files, and replace the file with the new skin. Once GTA SA tries loading, it crashes. If I put in the orginal skins, It still crashes. Any ideas? Please?

Sixdust
Something must be corrupt, just reinstall, save your savegames, and when modding cars and weapons, I tend to use GGMM, it has a backup feature, and you can view almost everything about the model and texture, even see it rotate around. Download here

Download here Well, Ive re-installed it several times... Dunno whats up with it. Ill give the GGMM a go. Btw, What if i wanna install IMG files? Because tje GGMM only takes files of a particular format, right? Edited May 30, 2006 by MissileDefender
Sixdust
Img file is the entire collection of .dff files (models) and .txd files (textures for the models) and some other files) When you open a compressed folder with the following files (a dff file, a txd file[there can be more than one, depending on whether the person added more skins] and usually a readme, with the vehichle.ide, handling, color, carmods data that needs to be changed.) Inorder to use ggmm, find your gta3.img file in the models folder (if its not automatic) and then find the car/weapon you want to change in the list on the left side, then pick in the drop down menu, create backup, then pick manual mod installer. Make sure that your necassary files are extracted to a place thats easy to find, like the desktop, and have the readme open (their seems to be something wrong with using winrar and ggmm at the same time though) Then press manual mod installer, pick the dff file in the dff slot, the txd file in the txd slot, and then paste any lines that need to be changed in the appropriate slots, the press install, and look at the nice model. Run GTA SA and check if the game loads up, then find/spawn the car to see if it works properly, if it does congrats, you have installed your mod, if not, restore from the backup and see if the game works good then. Sixdust
Is your copy legal? And what version is your game? Also have you manually erased any remaining files?
MissileDefender
Legit. V2. And yes I have... That help?
Black-hawk
V2. Might as well stop trying. R* blocked off modding in the 2nd version. Your only hope is to somehow replace the 2.0 exe with a 1.0/1.1 one. But since sharing EXE's is illegal here, I'd suggest looking for an alternative.
