[email protected]
Greetings all, I have a client who recently purchased a boxed version of GTA San Andreas but when he tries to start it gets an 'emulator detected' error. The client doesn't have any emulation software installed so I'm trying to find out what's causing the error. I've googled the problem but the only information I've been able to find is from folks who are trying to run burnt copies of the game with emulators. I did find one post that said securom objects to anyDVD, which the client did have installed, so I uninstalled that but still get the same result. I've done a registry clean to remove any leftovers - still no go. The only other ideas I've got are: 1. Its objecting to scsiAccess.exe, which I believe is installed by Alcohol 120% - only in this case it came with the software for the client's Kodak camera. 2. Its objecting to the virtual drive mounted by the client's IRiver device. For these last two, the client obviously doesn't want to uninstall legitimate apps that he uses regularly just so he can play the game. So, any suggestions as to how I get the game working? Plaka
2. Its objecting to the virtual drive mounted by the client's IRiver device. Looks like that could be the problem, try uninstalling that app and see if the game will load, if it does then the problem is identified. I wasn't aware that the v2.0 did a security check ... I do know gta_sa.exe checks the validity (Checksum) of certain files like script.img for integrity. I don't know how far you're prepared to go with this install maybe the easiest thing would be to install the IRiver device on a removable or different HDD. Hang around for more replies there are some very knowledgeable people here who may offer better help
