Umberto, Cortez or Lance's brother are, in my thinking, the three most likely lead characters. Cortez topping my list because he is rich, ruthless and powerful when VC takes place and that's likely where any main prior to VC would be.

 

Timeline, I see 1983 as the most likely setting. People keep pointing to the gap between VC and SA, but fail to recognize that if they stick to the 3 years before trend set in LCS, then SA: Stories will be set in that 1989 time frame. This also leaves them room for a 4th game in the 1995 timeline. This would fit if they decide to split SA into 2 games. With a Los Santos Stories set in 89 and starring Caesar and a San Fiero/Las Venturas Stories starring someone else, maybe a whole new char to tie all of the GTA3 series together and create the transitions to LCS and GTA3.

 

1983: VCS

1986: VC

1989: SAS

1992: SA

1995: SAS pt2 (?)

1998: LCS

2001: GTA3

 

This timeline makes sence and fits the 3 year timeline already established and the prequel setup used in LCS.

What ever happened to London 1969???? I still think they need to make this into a ps2 or psp version with a new story line. It would make for an intersting experiance. Wouldnt you agree?

Well has anyone thought that it will be before Vc, i would personally like to play as Diaz, i think he would have an interesting storyline.

nah, diaz is too fat and r* might want to keep their tradition of not having the main character die in another game.

I'd like to see a Vice City set in the 1950s...Imagine classic rock and roll along with REAL jazz (Charlie Parker and the like, not that modern Kenny G crap) and REAL blues (Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, not Steve Ray Vaughn) on the radio. Plus, there could be constant anti-communist PSAs and cheesy ads for cigarettes.

 

Imagine Prawn City when the houses there were still state-of-the-art. Cars like the Oceanic and the Broadway would be a nice familiar sight, too. A lot of fun could be had with weapons, too....WWII surplus (or maybe Australian/American war surplus) Thompson machine guns?

 

As far as tying into GTA, it could be about Avery Carrington's rise to power. Maybe Toni Cipriani's mother could be involved somehow, too, or a young Salvatore Leone.

I see billboards about love fist in SA. But mysteriously they don't have songs on the radio, or do they?

To me, I'm not very concern about the storylines, when will VCS happen or something else

 

But I'm very concern about the main characters, now comparing to the 4 characters we had in III, VC, SA and LCS, one of their main in common is they are of tough guys, so when I see someone suggesting Donald Love is the main character, it's just kind of wrong...how in the hell can he be the main character
