I think there is already enough information about GTA 2 contributed by both Rockstar and fans to rewrite it without a full source code release. If Rockstar hasn't released the code, after a lot of time being available for free download at the official website, despite all the interested people, it seems that they will never do it. 1st gtaROCKER Posted July 2, 2011 Share Posted July 2, 2011 I signed it. They already have a free download for it, so what loss would they suffer if they release the source code? I don't have a good enough PC to play it, but I signed anyway as it would help the modding community, and everyone who plays GTA 1 and 2. Its kind of like the crown jewel of the series, probably locked away in a vault somewhere never to be released.
