First off i have to state that i had san andreas on my computer and it was working, i was even playing the beta, but due to my computer i removed it and hoped to get vice city and then vc-mp.

 

I have vc-mp the game, this is what is all in my "vc-mp" folder which is in program files..

 

1.GTA vice city (image files)-670 mb

2.GTA-vc (Application)-2.94mb

3.ldvcmp0.txd (txd file)128kb

....that takes forever...im going to post a screenie of vc-mp, in the program files:

 

 

And here is the stuff you asked for, in the pinned topic...if i can find it all lol (*edit*i might put wrong stuff in some spots , and im sorry for that)

 

1) PC or PS2=pc version

2) What version number of GTAVC=0.1d(thats the mp thing from GTAGarage.com)

3) What CPU and it's speed=CPU Type Intel Celeron, 2400 MHz (24 x 100)

 

4) How much RAM, also what kind (DDR, SDRAM) and speed=System Memory 256 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM)

 

5) What video card=Video Adapter Intel® 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller (64 MB) (not sure...with this..3D Accelerator Intel Extreme Graphics)

 

 

6) Which version of Windows=Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

 

7) DirectX version=DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c)

 

8) What sound card=Audio Adapter Intel 82801DB ICH4 - AC'97 Audio Controller [A-1]

 

9) Any mods installed, any thing at all that owuld have changed things from what was originally installed...this includes adding mp3s to the mp3 folder=Well at first it was saying "error cannot find mss32.dll" so i looked it up on google,downloaded it and threw it in the vc-mp program folder.. Then after that a new error occoured which was .... ."The procedure entry [email protected] could not be located in the dynamic link library mss32.dll."

 

I think that's it for the basics, if you're having problems with your mouse or gamepad we'll need to know that too....i use keyboard and mouse there good, game just dont work..

 

10) (PC ONLY) Have you tried deleting your settings file? Where to find it: My Documents\GTA Vice City User Files\gta_vc.set..=.i have nothing to do with vice city in my documents, its all in the vc-mp program folder.

 

11) History: Is this your first install? Did it work once before? Anything that is relevant. I had san andreas installed and working, but not vice citythis is my forst attempt to vice city, i uninstalled san andreas cuz its slow, i figure vice city will be better..anyways, it hasnt worked yet..and there is a difference between the 2 games... san andreas i had to install which took me about 10-15 min, and it showed up on my program list, vice city i havnt installed or nothing like that.

 

I hope i gave enuf and info, and hope to here from a more experianced gta user

Ok , i have just got rid of everything except the game itself, i had lots of the multiplayer things in the program file with vice city, and i guess i should get the game to work before attempting to use mp too.

now i had installed daemon tools and installed vc...but i get this error....

Settle down and give it some time mate.

 

First, no warez. Get rid of Daemon Tools. It's probably going to be conflicting with VC's copy protection anyway (assuming you have a legit copy). I've no idea why you think the game will work when you're using image files and the sort. Surely you know that the VCMP files must be put in the root directory after an actual install? You can't just hold the image files somewhere on your hard disk like that. I won't go into any further because it's rather obvious that you're using an illegal copy - if you're not, use the discs provided and you'll have no problems whatsoever.

 

That's certainly enough to get this topic locked, but to add one more thing, the pinned topics clearly state that this forum is for unedited versions of Vice City. VCMP is certainly not an unedited Vice City.

Solution: Buy the game like everybody else most other people do.
