Dalpura
At the moment I've just got a cheapo ($70AUD) TV tuner card, MuchTV Fusion Tuner, I think? Anyway, to be perfectly blunt it's absolute sh*t. I only really use the A/V and coax connections it's got, for a Nintendo 64/Xbox and TV - and they're both just awful pictures. I don't know if it's compression, or what, but there's some major quality loss and I've decided it's time to get a half decent TV card. I'd like some recommendations from people who preferably have or have used a good one, and if you could possibly give me some idea of how much it costs so when I go looking I'm not totally blind. Basically what I'm after is a card that can do coax, composite, and S-video. Like when you plug an Xbox into a TV you get a good picture. I don't know much about TV cards, but if I could get one with picture quality as good as that, it'd be great. Much appreciated, thanks.
Cran.
Look at AverMedia TV cards, i've got one in my laptop, good card for TV, just haven't figured out how to get my Xbox working on it
Demarest
The one I use is called an Xper PVR Plus. It's el cheapo, but does everything. You can use the videos on my site as a reference if you want, but I wouldn't. It's essentially video only capture on the lowest DivX setting allowable. One thing I like about mine is it features capture to VCD compliant MPG streams. Used that more than once by now.

You can recored to DVD quality MPEG2 file or any file format you want, but not WMV I think. YOu can even burn direct to S/VCD or DVD.

And I'm getting quite excited about recording to DVD quality. Thanks a lot wolf, and Cran/Dem for the replies.
Wolf68k
If you want DVD quality then the signal to the card better be damn good. You'll be recording to a DVD format but quality might be just as good, but don't worry about that.
