I have recently tried to install a mod, accidentally deleted player.dff, found a backup, got the game to boot to the menu, then the loading issue. I really don't wanna reinstall, oh I've heard some about some issues with the riot mission, that was the last mission I played since I saved. Demarest Posted April 17, 2006 Share Posted April 17, 2006 There's no issue with Riot. You screwed the game up when you tried to mod. If you don't have a backup to use, then you'll need to reinstall. In the future, you may want to observe that gta3.img and gta3.dir and connected. If you do not backup both, you're not really backing either up. I'm also rather mystified as to what you were expecting as a response - you evidently know that reinstalling is the way to fix the problem. Regardless, in future, as soon as the word 'mod' comes into the equation, think modding forums. The VC forums are for unedited versions of the game, as indicated in the pinned topic. masterchief1517 Posted April 17, 2006 Author Share Posted April 17, 2006 Sorry, I never really did install the mod cause i realized I was a real DEETEEDOO when I deleted player.dff so I spent time looking for one. I think it was for the german version, sorry, lol. Again, my apologies that I did not take this at first to the modding forumn, and that I did not leave my computer info to help "resolve" the problem. Rules!
