After new mods Wont load

i install a new car or something than the game goes to start then when it starts to load it freezes and dont move the music still plays but the bar dont moe or anything can you please help im new to the game and forum

Well, first, I would like to extend a welcome to the forums. We're always glad to see new members here, and we'll do what we can to help you, as well as hope you would involve yourself in some of the other threads around the forum. It really is quite fun here, and there's lots to do.

 

As far as your problem goes, if you followed the directions in the mod exactly, replacing the .txd and .dff files of the car in the gta3.img archive using IMGtool or something similar, then the problem might be with the mod. What I would do is try replacing the modded files with the originals (if it's just a .txd and .dff, tell us what car and someone can host them on something like rapidshare or something and you can get them back), unless you backed up the files like you should, in which case you can replace the files and start anew. Hopefully, replacing the files you changed back to normal will fix your problem, and then I would suggest downloading the mod again and installing it again, making sure to back up originals and following all the steps in the mod's readme to the T. If this doesn't fix your problem, then I'm out of ideas, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

What version of SA do you have? If you have 2.0 or the Second Edition then you cant actually mod the game with vehicle model so that would be your problem if it is 2.0. Otherwise you may have just made a mistake installing it.

I do have the 2.0 version like you said. I also do back up the files like you also said and after the game dont load i have tried putting back in the back up files and it did the same thing i have tried using the IMGtool and also SAMI and the results equal the same. i have tried doing the file both ways with removing and replace the .txd , .dff files and the same results?

then your answer lies in the fact that you have version 2 of the game.

basically, you're out of luck. however, there is some method out there of changing the files in your game to be like version 1.0 so that you can mod the game, but i am unsure as to where that information is. i suggest you google it, or try the search feature here.

thanks to all of you for the help i am right now downloading the patch to convert it right now. this was the most helpful forum i have been to thnx you guys.

this will help if you installed the mod manually if you use Word pad to edit the handiling lines etc... copy and pasting it will mess it up slightly so make sure that a handiling line hasnt been placed at the end of another line it should be seperate one below the other make sure of that if its not that then well its the file i dont tend to back things up (i advise you back up a whole copy of your data and models folder out side the gta sa folder so you have it spair as a back up for lines and .dff and .txd files if you need them make sure you make a bacl up of a a working copy (be pretty stupid not too) erm also HELLO im new to forums)
