Toreno's REAL Last Flight- A tale by Nicka912

PART ONE

"Aw, f*ck, man..." CJ rolled over, giving his alarm clock a swift slap... The incessant noise stopped. CJ rubbed his eyes groggily. His girlfriend Katie Zhan rolled over next to him, still fast asleep. He rotated nintey degrees, dangling his feet off of the side of his bed. He hopped off. "Wonder what's up with Sweet today," Carl quietly spoke aloud, so as not to disturb his slumbering girlfriend. He slumped into the shower, rinsed off, lathered up, rinsed off. Stepping out with a towel around his waist, his phone began to ring. He ran back into the bedroom to pick it up. "Hello, hello?" He spoke quickly, in case the caller had already hung up. "Hello, Carl." Carl checked his caller ID... "Toreno? What the f*ck do you want now? Just leave me alone!" Toreno spoke back. "Alright you little sh*t, get your ass up to my ranch in Tierra Robada." "And what if I don't?" "I've got about four and a half men watching you right this second. Are you going to ask again, what will happen if you don't?" Carl replied quietly... "Naw... It's been a while, Toreno...."

The line went dead.Carl headed into his wardrobe, got on his Black Jacket from Victim, some ZIP Khakis, and his Didier Sachs Black Shoes, and walked outside into the warm, smoggy Ganton air. He walked calmly to his garage and fit himself into the black Huntley that sat in the garage. Turning the key, he shifted into reverse, backed out of the small garage, and rolled smoothly and queitly down grove street. Held in the inside pocket of his tailored jacket was a Tec 9. "Just gotta be safe," Carl told himself, feeling the shape of the strap in his jacket as he turned his brand new whip north into Jefferson.. He began to head up into the countryside through the Mullholland, and continued up into Las Venturas. "Takin' the scenic route, today," Carl again spoke aloud as he turned the radio dial to K-DST. "Ahhh, SKYNYRD!" Carl happily exclaimed, turning the radio up. "I'm as free, as a bi--Sorry for the interruption." "What the f*ck?" Yelled Carl, who was ticked that some public broadcasters decided to cut into his favorite song. "Please excuse the interruption. The San Andreas Weather Association has located the touchdowns of several tornadoes touching down in the Bone County area. Execute caution if entering this area." The broadcast ended, and the song continued..."If I leeeave here tomorrrrow..." Carl drifted off into the music. tapping his hand on the steering wheel to the beat of the song. As soon as the song came back on, rain began to pitter-patter on the windows of the SUV. CJ's phone started to ring. He checked the number... It was Katie. "Carl, baby, where are you?" "I'm headin over to Toreno's place. I got some bid'ness to take care of before I come home and see you, alright?" "Oh, there's tornadoes out there!" "I know, baby, I know... I'll be careful." "Please come home!" "Baby, I gotta get this done." "Oh, be careful! I'm not gonna lose you!" "I'll be fiiiine, baby! Don't worry about it!" He clicked "END," and Katie's voice stopped.

He continued to roll through storms the next couple of minutes. After a while, though, the weather calmed down. It was now only down to a slight drizzle. Carl continued driving to the sounds of Tommy "The Nightmare" Smith and KDST. It was after a few minutes that Carl had trouble driving in a straight line. The wind was drifting him all over the empty road. He turned the radio off so he could continue to concentrate on the dusty, near-impossible to see street. The lights of Venturas were no longer visible at his distance. After a minute more or so of driving, he could see the outlines of Toreno's mansion. As he drove closer, he could see flickering, flashing lights of assorted colors. "Ah, Toreno, what'chu got me into, man?" He pulled off into the driveway of Mike's house, happy to be off of the road. Toreno walked out, his hair and suit being blown about in the severe wind. "Nice car, Carl!" Toreno shouted from the porch of his house. Carl began to walk forward against the wind, pushing his way through the air onto the porch of Toreno's house. He pulled himself in through the doorway. "Damn, man!" Carl had not even noticed that there was a Maverick in toreno's backyard, a Tropic tied to his Dock, and a Skimmer, just making a landing down the narrow river behind Mike's house. "Flyin' in this would be sh*t," Carl thought in his head, sitting in a chair in the living room. "Toreno, don't this place got any doors?" Carl asked. "Are you f*ckin' kidding me? It never RAINS in Tierra Robada... No need for doors!" Toreno responded, his hair still blowing in the vicious wind. A pilot with a dark face, sporting a one piece racing-style suit and a helmet, pulled himself into the house, only to collapse on the shiny wood floor of the mansion. The gusts died down a bit, and the pilot dragged himself into a brown leather chair, his head tilted back, breathing heavily. The pilot spoke up. "It's bad out there." The pilot's voice was weak, raspy. Carl stood politely to introduce himself. "Nice to meet'chu, my names Carl Johnson--CJ." "Carl Johnson??? Oh, my friend, I've heard VERY good things about you, and your flying." "Thank you very much," said CJ, sitting back down. "And your name?" "Name's Jihan Cora, I work with Juank Air, I'm usually flying Nevadas... Only my third time in a Skimmer." Toreno stood, and entered a dark room. Carl heard the sound of a door locking behind Toreno. "Yeah, Skimmers are tough... I can't stand Nevadas, though," Carl replied...

Carl and the pilot sat and relaxed after a tough trip out to the estate, occasionaly sharing a few words. "I wonder why we're here," Carl spoke, sitting upright again. The pilot sat up, shook his head violently, and began, "Uh, whoo, wha, wuh?? Oh, OH! Yeah... I dunno." Carl spoke again. "Who flew in the Maverick?" "I don't know, I think some of Toreno's boys are in here," said the pilot. Carl replied "Yeah, maybe that's who Toreno's meetin' with." The winds picked up occasionaly, but it was unusally calm. Toreno walked out of the room in a very eerie, suspicious manner. "Ok, Ok, you boys have had enough time to chat. Now we gotta get down to business. Carl... I need you to take us up to your airfield, pronto." Carl responded with a few quick words. "Damn, man, as if it wasn't tough enough to get out here! ... ... What's in it for me?" Toreno responded again... "The life of your brother." The door of the room was kicked open, and a man dressed with a mask and a dark suit stood behind Sweet, silenced nine at the head of his brother. "Holy sh*t! Hasn't he been through enough, Toreno? You asshole!" Carl remembered the Tec 9 in his jacket... No, not now, he thought... This comes in later. Right now I gotta work on keepin' sweet alive. Carl began to speak again. "OK, OK, everyone, get in the Huntley, lets get out to Verdant Meadows!"

Nice I like it so far, but try putting speaking parts (") on a different line for each person as it gets quite confusing. Other than that it is good.

Thank you for your kind words.

I figured the dialogue was going to get a little confusing. If I have some time to clear it up, I will. Stay tuned for a part two sometime this week!

PART 2

Carl, the pilot, Toreno, two guards, and the bound-up sweet, all piled into the seat and trunk of the boxy SUV. Carl shoved the keys in the ignition, turned, and heard the engine only grumble. Try and try as he did, he could not get the engine running. "f*ck it. Everyone out," said Carl. He walked around the house into the back, where the Maverick idly sat. He asked one of Toreno's guards for the keys. Surprisingly, the keys were given to him without any struggle. Sweet wriggled and shook around, but the guards held him tight and in place. "Jihan, up front. Everyone else, fit into the back." One guard went into the back, then Mike, then another guard, with Sweet lain across their laps. His mouth was taped, his hands tied. Carl started the blades of the chopper with ease. He lifted the swift chopper into the nighttime air, faced due north, and began to glide forward through the misty air. It was no longer windy or rainy. Carl began to speak, as he concentrated on the controls of the chopper.

"Alright, so what's the bid'ness." Toreno responded quietly.

"Just a little something I need you to do. Let's say it involves maple syrup, the Easter Bay airport, and the Army."

"Aw, hell."

Sweet gave a bodily thrust backwards, but was hit in the mouth by one of the masked guards. Blood seeped out under the tape. Carl looked back and winced as he saw Sweet and maneuvered the plane away from Area 69. He'd been screwed enough already. He's not going to get into a bout with the FBI just yet. He headed towards the AC Tower, bringing the chopper to a halt on a strip of desert. Everyone piled out of the plane, gasping for breath from the crouded Maverick. "Those things aren't meant to hold six guys," Carl said. "Anyways, we here. Now, what's the f*ckin bidn'ess already?"

"Calm down, Carl. We've got all day to finish this."

"Finish WHAT?"

"You'll find out. I hear you have quite an aircraft collection, now." He pulled a combat shotgun from his jacket. "Show me the f*cking planes."

CJ held up his hands, backing up, opening his hangar. "I've got that Hydra over in that hangar, too."

"Ah, the hydra will work nicely. Close this f*cking hangar, take me to the Hydra."

Carl led Toreno down the airstrip, stopping at the Hydra's hangar. "It's a beatiful bird," Toreno said quietly. "Get in." He said, boldly.

Carl opened the hatch, climbed in, and adjusted himself to the controls. Toreno slipped him a small earpiece. "Good Luck." Toreno slammed the hatch, leaving Carl inside. Carl spoke through a microphone: "Good luck with WHAT?" Toreno Responded: "Ah, yes. Well, get to the Easter Bay airport, you've got clearance there to land when you please. Keep that Hydra in tip-top shape, you little f*cker."

Carl rolled out onto the runway, and lifted vertically into the air. A quick series of complex switches and handles, and he was forward-bound to the Easter Basin.

"Easter Basin AC, this is Hydra flight CJ-101, clearance to land at Easter Bay Airport?"

"CJ-101, this is Easter Basin AC, cleared to land on runway 69."

Carl descended and touched down, bringing the plane to a stop at the end of the tarmac. He taxied to a vacant spot on the taxiway. He called Toreno on his earpiece. "OK, To--" Toreno Cut in-- "Alright, welcome to San Fierro!!!"

"This ISN'T funny, Toreno, what's up?"

"Just stay there... Alright... Let me check something..." In the background, Carl heard a series of complex keystrokes and erratic mechanical noises. "OK, what I need you to do is get out of the plane. Strap that f*cking M4 to your back. Get out there."

Carl was hesitant, but remembered his brother. He exited the plane, grabbed his M4, and shoved it under his jacket, strapping it to his back. The moment he got out of the proximity of the aircraft... He heard a loud, thundering explosion, echoing through the taxiway of EB Airport. "What the f*ck?"

Squad cars, Enforcers, Barracks, even a Rhino were at the spot almost immediately. Above, he heard the jets of another Hydra circling the area, with a Hunter hovering over his position. A VCN Chopper was quick to follow.

SWAT members advanced towards carl, SMG's pointed every which way. But mostly at CJ. CJ signalled surrender, throwing his hands up into the air. Toreno yelled at him immediately, "SHOOT, Carl, f*ckING SHOOT THEM!" Carl wasn't even going to bother hesitating, he was too tired to bother with Toreno. He ripped the M4 off of his back, aiming it at the nearest officer. A round went off, and then another. The SWAT Man was on the ground, screaming in pain. Carl aimed at the next SWAT man, and before the officer could get a round off, he was on the ground, not moving. Carl popped the next two in the head, as blood gushed from the sockets of their eyes and their ears. A chaingun went off. Carl didn't even think about it, he knew it was coming from that Hunter. "Dammit, I didn't wanna have to do this..." He quickly took aim, and with only a few well placed shots at the chopper, the threatening Hunter was spinning out of control, and crashed into the side of Easter Bay Naval Base's main complex.

Toreno came back on the earpiece. "Holy crap, kid. Tear em' up!" Carl, who was slightly busy with matters at hand (mainly being the slew of SWAT team members engaging him) decided to speak again... "Why, Toreno? Why the f*ck am I here?" Toreno responded again, "You're just doing my bidding!" The military's Hydra still circled the area, observing, but not shooting. Carl put his finger on a trigger, taking out a few more SWAT members. A triangular formation of Rhino's formed behind him. "Aw, f*ck." The Rhino's didn't seem concerned with Carl, however. Their turrets simultaneously inched up, pointing at the air. With that, Carl heard the jets of yet another Hydra moving inbound. It was shaking around a bit, it sure didn't seem like a professional Hydra pilot. "Holy....." The second hydra let off a salvo of rockets, aimed at the first Hydra, which was still carefully circling. One, two explosions, and the first Hydra glided erratically down, slamming into the tarmac with a loud explosion. The second Hydra flew off into the south. "Saved my ass... Holy crap, Jihan!!!" He remembered the pilot from the Mansion. From the north again, a formation of Hydras chased after Jihan, heading south... Carl put all of his focus again on the SWAT members, still popping them, one by one. After the seemingly never-ending stream of SWAT members were finished, Carl capped the Patrol officers, right in all of their faces. They fell to the ground after one or two shots, dead. Carl sprinted towards a squad car. He got in, shut the door behind him, and sped off towards the security gate. He looked at his surroundings, finding an SMG in the back seat. "Handy," CJ thought to himself. Carl slammed through the security gate, making the car sprint up the hill. He was on the road, on the highway. Toreno came online. "You did a hell of a job, out there, kid."

"How'd that Hydra explode?"

"How the hell do you think it exploded, I packed it with C4 before you took off!"

"Dammit, Toreno! Is Sweet OK?"

"Sweet's fine, just a little roughed up..."

"I'll f*cking kill you..."

"Again, I'll say it. He's FINE."

"Alright, well, where we gonna meet up?"

"Oh, we're not meeting up anywhere. Sweet's tied up alone at your airstrip, you'll have to go release him. I'll be..... places. I'm always watching."

"Whatever, man."

Carl sped away to Doherty, ditching the Cop Car, and running into the garage, out of the sight of any policemen. He changed himself into a fine DidierSachs Red Jacket and some Tweed Pants. He walked into the office. Cesar and Kendl were on the desk, kissing passionately.

"Oh, damn, didn't mean to interrupt anything." Kendl put her shirt back on, and Cesar zipped up his pants.

"Sorry, holmes."

"You know, this in't really the proper place for a honeymoon, anyways..."

"We've put so much money into this garage, we just don't have the paper!"

"I'll take you guys somewhere... Believe me... I just got some sh*t to take care of, first. "

Carl sat down in an office chair, exhausted. Kendl spoke. "So, what's up, baby brother? You look bad!" Cesar agreed, nodding his head.

"It's a long-ass story..." Carl repeated the story to Ces and Kendl, as they sat quitely and listened. Kendl looked, perplexed, at CJ.

"So, Sweet is... Where?"

"Aw sh*t! Sweet!"

"Go, Carl!"

Carl ran into the storage garage in Doherty, grabbed the keys for the Bullet from a shelf on the wall, and backed out of the garage. He sped up on the Garver Bridge, weaving in and out of traffic, trying to get to VM as quickly as he could.

Some time passed before the car flew onto the airstrip. The Maverick still sat there, and nothing looked as if it had been touched. Carl bailed out of the Bullet, letting it roll down the runway, as he sprinted into the old AC tower.

"SWEET!" He took out his knife, cutting the ropes, setting Sweet free. He ripped the tape from Sweet's mouth. Blood gushed out of Sweet's lip.

"Sweet, how you doin?"

Sweet gave Carl a hug, and then sat back down on the chair.

"I'm alright, baby... damn!"

"Toreno still got any goons in here?"

"Nah, they all went."

"Hmm, aight. Anyways, man, You wanna hear a f*ckin' story?!?! I'll tell you a f*ckin' story."

Carl explained the situation again, to his brother, Sweet.

"Damn, kid... Well, good job gettin' out of that one... I wonder what the POINT was..."

"Toreno's always gonna have his reasons... I'll f*ck him up, though, if I ever find him. Believe that..."

"Let's stab outta here, CJ!"

CJ led Sweet into his garage. He started up his Mesa, backed up, and let Sweet get in. They had a very quiet ride home, with KROSE playing in the background. Carl was led to thinking... Contemplating the death of Mr. Mike Toreno...

PART 3

CJ pulled the Mesa up to Sweet's house. "Later, Sweet!" "Thanks, Carl... For everything." Carl put the Mesa in reverse and backed directly up into his garage. He walked out, closed the garage, and walked into his house in Ganton, greeted directly by Katie. He gave Katie a kiss, and walked into the kitchen. "Damn, what a day..." Katie sat down in the kitchen chair next to him, and rubbed his back. "What happened, baby?" Carl explained the story a third time, only this time, leaving out some of the more... dangerous parts. He didn't want his girl to get upset, so he sugarcoated the story. Hey, Katie... I got something to do...

"Don't go again, baby! TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!"

"Ok.... come on... I guess."

"thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!" Katie was exuberant.

Carl and Katie walked out of the house. Carl got into the Mesa, with Katie close behind. He backed out, and shut the garage. "Where are we going, Carl?" "Where are we going Carl?" Katie nagged excessively...

"Shut up, bitch." Carl locked the doors and flashed his pistol. Katie showed both expressions of fear and of being appalled. She was quiet the rest of the way.

Carl continued driving. He stopped in Varios Los Aztecas territory. He got out of the Mesa, and went over to talk to one of the Varios, both taking the keys and flashing the gun at Katie, who sat quietly in the Mesa. She considered calling the police, then considered the consequences. She sat quietly still.

Carl disapeared for a moment, with the Varios Los Azteca boy. He returned driving a pitch black FBI Rancher. He motioned for Katie to join him, pointing his gun at her again. Katie ran to the Rancher, and got in. Thoughts ran through Katie's head like crazy... She remained silent as CJ rolled off, driving North.

They ended up in the Desert, Tierra Robada.... Mike Toreno's ranch. Carl got out, and again, flashed his gun at Katie. Carl was wearing a black suit and sunglasses. He walked into Toreno's house. CJ found himself bursting into a room, shouting for Mike. He tackled Toreno, disarmed him, and bound him. "Your f*ckin' agents didn't tell you THIS sh*t was comin', did they??? What the f*ck is wrong with you, motherf*cker!?" He dragged Toreno face first to the Rancher, threw him in the back, and got out his cell phone... He found the number he was looking for.

"Ay, Jihan?"

"Oh, hey Carl. What are you up to?"

"No time to talk. Get to Toreno's Ranch, pronto."

"Um, OK, Carl, I'll be there in five."

In the meantime, Carl had a little fun with Toreno. Katie covered her eyes as Carl smacked Toreno every which way. He scraped Toreno's face with his knife, shoved a rifle into his face... Just everything he could do to piss Toreno off. A red Stallion pulled up into the driveway. Jihan stepped out, this time wearing a T-shirt and jeans. "Jihan, just the man I was lookin' for! Katie, get into the f*cking back seat. Jihan, up here, my man!"Jihan climbed into the Rancher. "Damn, dude, nice ride!"

"Yeah, I got a hook up..."

"Awesome, so where we off to?"

"I gotta make a quick stop in San Fierro."

"Alright, I got time..."

The ride was silent... CJ pulled the truck into the garage's parking lot in Doherty. He ran in, and came back out with Cesar and Kendl. "Guys, this a friend of mine, Jihan Cora." Everyone exchanged names politely.

"And THIS--" Carl said, pointing to Toreno, "This is a... business partner of mine. Everyone meet Mike Toreno!" Cesar punched Toreno in the face with force. Toreno yelped under his taped-up mouth. We're gonna take this f*cker for a ride!" Katie was ignored completely, and remained in the back seat.

CJ Drove the Rancher up to Verdant Meadows Airstrip. He went into the hangar and pulled out a Shamal jet. "Get in, e'rbody!" Everyone went into the aircraft. "Damn, homey!!! Nice interior on this thing! I gotta learn to fly," Cesar said, feeling the leather interior. Katie stepped in herself, looking very worried. CJ Picked up Toreno, and slammed him against the floor, giving him a swift slap to the face. "Aighty, nigga, let's take her for a ride!!!" He took Jihan into the cockpit, and they were off. Cesar nor Kendl asked where they were off to. They were both perplexed with the fine quality of the aircraft. CJ and Jihan exchanged words about flying and aircraft while they took off, and as they flew. After they were cruising and flying above ocean for a while, CJ got out of his seat. "Ay, Jihan, can you take this for a second? I gotta go do some sh*t. Jihan scooted over into the captain's seat, and adjusted himself to the controls. CJ walked back into the cabin. Toreno was on the ground, wiggling around. Cesar kicked Toreno in the leg to put a stop to this. Carl started-- "Ay, Toreno, we over the ocean, man!!!" Toreno looked terrified. "You gon' die, BITCH!" Tears started to well up in Toreno's eyes. He was afraid for his life. Katie spoke up-- "Carl, what are you doing! What are you going to do!??!?!" Katie was scared, as well. Carl was sick of it, took his knife out, and ended it with a slice to Katie's throat. Katie struggled for only a second before she slumped over in her chair. Cesar giggled a bit nervously, then made a joke out of it.. "sh*t, holmes, now you gotta clean up blood stains!" Carl stood there.... "Now it's time to take care of Toreno." First, he picked up Katie's body and drizzled some of her blood on Toreno's face, just to piss him off. He looked pissed, that's for sure. He set Katie down.

"Hey Jihan, unlock the front port hatch! Everyone, hold on tight." Carl dragged Toreno to the front of the plane. "Bring us down, a little, Jihan!" The plane descended rapidly. They were but a few hundred feet now from the water. "Hold on, everyone!" Carl threw open the front hatch. He took out his Tec 9, shot Toreno in the foot, and kicked him very hard off of the edge of the plane. He then disposed of Katie's body, as well, throwing her out like a piece of trash. Kendl's hair was flying everywhere, and there were papers and documents being thrown about by the force of the wind. Carl lifted the front hatch, shutting it and locking it. "Damn... Well... Off to Vice City."

Cesar responded joyfully. "Vice? Sweet, holmes!!! I got some cousins n' sh*t down there!" Kendl was excited too.

"Oh, thank you, baby brother!"

"Yeah, sis, no problem. Gotta do y'all a proper honeymoon"

Carl stepped into the cockpit. "Thanks, Jihan."

Perhaps I'll make it continuous, make a little story out of it. I'll have to end up bringing it back to San Andreas or Liberty... The story can't stay in Vice long, I don't know Vice like I know the other two.

Ah, Thank you very much!!!

What I've done, is used SAM and Microsoft Paint to make little maps of routes taken in the story... It's really just a tool to put you in my mindset as I was writing this story... Like, these were the routes that I saw in my head as I was writing.

Here's a very quick part before I head off to bed.

PART FOUR

Carl slumped into the captain's seat as Jihan stood up, and exited the cockpit. He just wanted to relax. He avoided completely the chair that Katie was seated on, it was now soaked with fresh blood, but instead sat behind Kendl. "So, you guys are freshly married, eh?" Asked Jihan, curiously. Kendl replied sweetly, "Yeah, this is my baby right here." She reached across the aisle and squeezed Cesar's hand. "We're gonna have a realy honeymoon, baby!" Cesar smiled at this, let go of Kendl's hand, and picked up a "Carz" magazine.

Up in the cockpit, CJ heard his cell phone ring-tone. "Hmm, I wonder if this screws with these instruments..." He wondered. He decided that there was parachutes and a raft in the back, and took the risk. "Hello?" (the instrument panel remained stable) "Who is this?"

"Carl, nice to hear your voice! This is Woozie."

"Oh, hey Woozie! How's the Casino?"

"Better than ever!"

"That's good to hear. Listen, I'm takin' myself a little vacation, I hope you don't mind."

"Not at all. Where you headed?"

"Vice City. I'ma drop off my sister and Cesar at the Ocean Beach Hotel, let em' do their thing, and then take a little vacation myself. I've got another pilot in the cabin, too. Jihan Cora, great guy. Flies for Juank"

"Sounds fun! Er, Vice can be a rough city, you know."

"Once you been through Liberty, ain't NOTHIN' rough, man."

"Hm, ha, OK, well, I'm gonna let you go, Carl. I've got money to make!"

"OK, Woozie, I'll give you a call once we're on the ground!"

"Byebye, Carl."

"See ya"

The line was dead.

"Everybody comfortable back there?" Carl asked the passengers. "Yeah, CJ, thank you!" Kendl shouted. The plane cruised comfortably through clear skies...

...

"Escobar International, this is Flight CJ92 from Verdant Meadows, San Andreas, requesting landing clearance."

"CJ92, this is Escobar AC, you're clear for landing, Runway V69. Cleared at Gate V11 for access.

"Thank you..."

The plane straightened itself with the nearing tarmac, and CJ prepared the flight controls for a smooth landing...

"Lady and Gentlemen, welcome to Vice City."

Cheering arose from the cabin.

Alright, the story's gonna take over in Vice City for a few parts. If you're going to criticize me about locations in Vice City and Characters, please do so constructively, as I haven't played much Vice City, and don't know the lay of the land too well.

Part 5

The plane came to a stop at gate V11, at Escobar International Airport. To his North, CJ could see the outlines of Fort Baxter Air Base. He picked up his telephone.

"Ay, Woozie!"

"Carl, how's Vice?"

"Just got on the ground, decided I'd check in quick."

"I see! Well, things are going well here... I'll keep you updated with the Mafia conditions and such... I'm worried about a full scale attack."

"Well, if anythings wrong, I can get myself on a jet and out of here in a heartbeat, so call me if there's trouble."

"Good looking out, Carl. I'll talk to you later."

"See ya, Woozie"

A dead phone line cued the closing of CJ's flip phone. He unbuckled his safety straps, and stood up with a large stretch. He opened the cockpit door, and greeted his

friends and family in the cabin.

"It's nice, here..." Carl recited to himself, as he opened the front hatch of the plane. He loaded the pistol in his jacket, and put it back. He didn't want any trouble, he was

just being vigilant, in case Toreno had some boys here... "You never do know," CJ thought to himself...

After everyone had left the plane, carl left the front hatch open, and made a quick phone call to get the plane maintenanced and put in a garage. Carl pulled out and

unfolded a map of the city of Vice. "Sunshine Autos... sounds like a... happy place. Let's stop by there."

Carl walked into the airport terminal, followed by his sister, Cesar, and Jihan. They exited the airport out of the front entrance. Carl signalled for a cab.

"To Sunshine Autos, please."

The plump, pale cab driver grinned, nodded his head, and took Kendl's bag into the trunk. Ces, Kendl, and Jihan piled into the backseat, while Carl sat up front with the

driver, who introduced himself as Hilary. "Nice to meet you... Hilary. You know Vice real well, I take it?"

Hilary nodded, and spoke- "Yeah, I know this bitch like the back of my hand... If you ever need a little help getting around..."

Hilary handed Carl a business card, with a phone number scribbled on it. "Gimme a call..." Hilary did not speak the rest of the ride. It was about noon when they got out

of traffic and onto the road to Sunshine Autos. Hilary pulled into the parking lot, shook Carl's hand, and said "Thirty-six sixty." Carl took out his wallet, paid Hilary the

fare, and left a generous tip.

The group walked out into the sunny Vice afternoon, as Carl led the way into Sunshine Autos. He walked up to a desk, speaking to a tan, dark male. "You got a manager

I can speak to?"

"Oh, the manager is off today..."

"Is there any way I can reach him?"

"Well... here's his business card."

"Thank you. In the mean time, I'd like to make a little purchase... You guys got a Sentinel XS and a Sabre Turbo?"

The car dealer's eyes lit up, and he escorted them to CJ's vehicles of choice. "Thank you..."

The dealer led Carl to a desk, Carl signed some papers, and got the keys to the vehicles. He tossed the Sabre Turbo keys to Cesar. Cesar's eyes looked excited. "Here, bro. Enjoy yourself... I'll lead you to your hotel... Just follow me on the road." Carl pulled the map out again, took a pencil from the dealer's desk, and wrote out a route on the map. "Aiiight...." He returned the pencil to the desk, shook the dealer's hand, and exited the dealership. He took Jihan into the brand new Sentinel XS, and watched Cesar open the passenger door of the Sabre for Kendl. CJ was glad that Kendl made such a great choice... He was a cold cat with a heart of gold...

CJ Started the ignition, and Cesar did the same. He pulled out onto the road, heading East over to the Eastern Island. CJ heard his phone ringing,, picked it up,and heard the voice of Cesar on the other line. "Where you takin' us, holmes?"

"It's a surprise..." CJ hung up, and looked in his rear view mirror. Cesar was smiling in the Sabre, alongside his wife.

...

CJ pulled into the alley next to none other than the Ocean View Hotel of Washington Beach. He stepped out, along with Jihan. "For three weeks, this is gonna be your paradise... There's all kinds'a great places to eat round this area too... Head to the beach, as well... I'm gettin your car valeted, no worries about that. I'll see you guys later, maybe we'll meet up and have dinner. CJ Stepped outside the hotel, along with Jihan. He called a connection to have the Sentinel XS and Sabre picked up and valeted... He then searched for another business card in his messy wallet. "Ah, ha!" CJ Pulled out the Card to the manager of Sunshine Autos. The card read... "Tommy Vercetti."

Good story. icon14.gif

I just wonder about the story title, if he dies early in 3rd chapter. Maybe he'll appear again misteriously alive later, like in the game mission... sly.gif

The title may possibly just change, or just stay the same..... and have this be "Life After Toreno..." I don't know. I'm going to start giving the chapter's names from here out.

Thanks for the kind words.

Part Six, 4/20/06

--Tommy...--

"Yeah, hello, is this Tommy?"

"Hello... I'm not sure I know you..."

"This is Carl Johnson... You know, CJ! We did some work in Liberty."

"Ah... Carl Johnson, Carl Johnson... Hmm.. Oh! Yeah! The Import Garage in Portland, Yeah?"

"Hahaha! What's up, Tommy?"

"Not much, CJ. Where are you?"

"I think we're somewhere on Washington Beach..."

"Oh, what brings you into Vice?"

"I'm here for pleasure. Strictly for pleasure."

"Hmmm... You know what? Stop by my mansion, later on... I'll give you a run on the town, show you all the hot spots... Be careful, until then/."

"Where's it at?"

"Big, white mansion on Starfish Island. Can't miss it."

"I'll swing by..."

Carl flipped the phone, killing the line.

"Hey, Jihan..."

"Yeah, Carl?"

"I'ma book you a room on the strip here... Here's a phone, call me some time... I got some things to take care of."

"Ha, Cool. I'll catch you later Carl. If you get into trouble.. I've got connections, I'll bail ya out.."

"Thanks, Ji."

"Yeah."

Carl ran out into the street, jacking a tiny Manana from a little old lady. "My turn!" Carl shouted, as he slammed the ladie's head against the steering wheel, sounding the

horn. The lady crawled out, and CJ sped off. He called, booked a room and a rental car for Jihan, and then called Tommy again.

"Hey, Tommy, I'mabout to swing by."

"Alright, The gates'll be open"

"Thanks, T."

CJ made a quick stop at the local Collars&Cuffs, picking up a new suit for his meeting with Tommy. He walked out in style, headed to a nearby parking lot, and picked

the lock of an Infernus. Brand new. He hotwired the Infernus, and sped north towards Starfish Island.

Pulling into the mansion, Carl was simply amazed at the complexity and beauty of Tommy's shack. He parked his infernus, cocked a pistol (which he then placed in his

jacket,) and walked up to the door. A guard wearing a tropical shirt and jeans buzzed the door open. "The boss is upstairs." Carl ran up the somewhat perplexing

staircases, and found the correct suite. He gave a knock at the door. A scantily clad young lady sprinted out of the doorway when it was opened by a tan man, with

brown hair. He was wearing a turquoise tropical shirt, and an expensive pair of jeans.

"Carl Johnson..." Tommy shook his head, and held out his hand.

"Hey, Tommy." Carl accepted the shake, shaking back with a firm grip.

"How've you been?" Tommy went to the minibar, pulled out some gin, and began mixing up a pair of martinis. "This is the finest gin in Vice City..."

The boys sat down at a desk with their drinks, sharing stories of their lives as of then, and reminiscing on all of the late nights spent repairing cars at the import garage...

and killing worthless mafiosos in St. Marks.

"I like it here in Vice... I can't stay for TOO long, though... I've got sh*t I still gotta take care of with the Families."

"How is that little street gang, anyways?"

"It ain't just a street gang, anymore." CJ shot Tommy a strange look. "We got a front in a Casino in Venturas, a garage in Fierro.. and the Grove itself. It's generating

more revenue than ever..."

"So you're selling out?"

"Christ, man. Enough!"

"Haha, I'm just f*cking with you."

"Yeah... well. Maybe I'll take you home, have you swing by the Grove.... sh*t's not so f*cked up."

"Hmm, I might just take you up on that." Tommy smiled sarcastically. "Anyways, we've got some f*cking business to take care of. There's been some f*ckers in Little

Havana, f*cking around with my gang... Loading them up with arms, drugs, whatever they got, they're selling to the Vercetti's..."

"Same story back home..."

"Yeah, well we've got a strict policy. Anyone who deals with other gangs gets f*cked up..."

"So..."

"SO, we kill all the Vercetti mafiosos in LH."

"We WHAT?"

"I'm not gonna bother with those Cuban pieces of sh*t. All they're good for is cigars."

"You're f*cked up, T!"

"Yeah, me and you 'roll' two different ways."

"Taking out your own OG's?"

"We don't HAVE OG's in this business. Get with the f*cking times."

"Damn.. well... Let's roll."

CJ stood, followed by Tommy, out into the courtyard. he grabbed the Infernus keys from his front pocket, jingled them about, and opened the door for Tommy. "Thanks,"

Tommy said. Carl got in, revving the engine, and sped off of the property, towards Little Havana.

They locked the doors, but rolled down the windows. Carl took out an AK, and holding it with one hand, popped an idle Vercetti gang member. The gangster fell to the

ground in pain. Carl pulled the trigger once again, finishing the man. "There's one..." Carl pulled the car onto the side of the road, and exited. He made sure his body

armor was strapped tightly, and ran out of the car, blazing at the waiting group of Vercettis, who didn't have time to react before they were lying in the ground in a pool of

blazing fire. Tommy had thrown a molotov cocktail. "sh*t!" Carl screamed. Cubans started to flank their position. With most of the Vercetti Families in the area down, carl

opened the door to the Infernus, warmed up the gas, and floored it as soon as Tommy had shut his door. "Holy crap!" Tommy said with enthusiasm. His breathing was

short and labored. He calmed down as they rolled north on a western island. They both calmed down, saftied their weapons, rolled down their windows, and enjoyed the

soothing Vice City breeze. Carl spoke.

"How's your families doin?"

"We're good except for that bunch that I just blazed."

"Hmm. That's good to hear. Listen, I'm gonna drop you off, I've got some business to take care of myself."

..

"See ya around," Tommy said, exiting the Infernus, escorted inside by a waiting guard wielding a chrome shotgun.

CJ went south, down to 8-ball's Bombshop. He knocked at the door. A surley young man looked through the peephole in the door of the small building. Recognizing the

man as "not a police officer," he opened the door, and Carl stepped in. "I need a green duck on a yellow lake in the middle of January." The young man looked at CJ, and understood. He went into a dark back room, and emerged holding a pipe. "Here ya go." Carl whipped out a wad of cash, and paid the young man.

Carl went outside, into a dark alley, and smoked a rock of premium, grade-a crack. He toked at it, his body shaking from the essence of pure crack. He sat on the ground,

took out a flask, and drank away at the remaining vodka. Carl sat in that corner, tripping, vomiting, and finally falling asleep.

Part 7, 4/21.

Carl awoke in that same alley, his head spinning, surrounded by a pool of his own excrement and vomit. He tried to stand up, but once up, was rewarded with a trip over his own shoelace and another series of vomiting. He lay on the ground, coughing. He sat himself up, and stood up once again. He walked, stumbling into the crack den, the door was unlocked. He headed into the backroom, and opened a fridge. He took out a bottled water, and chugged it, breathing heavily afterwards. He sat over on a ratty couch, thinking to himself.

"So that's what the big fuss was about? All this sh*t? Damn, those Ballas are f*cked up. This is some bad sh*t." The thoughts ran through Carl's head like crazy.

After he sat for a while, the door opened. Carl turned around to see a pair of young African-American men, dressed in none other than Chore Jackets and purple headbands. "Damn," said one of the men, looking at CJ. "A GSF OG?" The other asked, curiously. Carl tried to hide his face. "Nigga, that's CJ! Carl Johnson! Nigga, you're not into this sh*t!" CJ covered his face into his hands. "Aw, sh*t..." Carl began to stand up. He headed for the door, but was stopped by one of the Ballas. Carl struggled a bit, but was pushed down by the other purple-clad man. "Nigga, you've got sh*t to do for us..." The taller of the two men took out a cell phone, and showed Carl the address book. The first entry read "Sean Johnson." Underneath it was Sweet's phone number. "I just push this little button, and tell 'Sweet' what you've been up to, you f*cker... That is... Unless you have the time to put in a little work!" Carl was helped up by one of the Balla's. He spoke quietly. "What do you need?"

"First, we're going to have to go back to San Andreas."

"Aw, Hell naw, I'm on vacation!"

"Remember. All it takes is one motion of my finger, and it'll have Sweet all over your ass."

"Damn."

One Balla swiftly put CJ in a chokehold, while the other reached into CJ's jacket, taking out the pistol and SMG that Carl had hidden in the inside pockets. CJ hadn't thought to whip out his straps. His head still spun from his expierience. "We're gonna have ourselves a trip to Los Santos."

The two men had an idling Sentinel parked outside the crack den. "Let's go." Carl was pushed into the backseat. The two Ballas took the front seats, and the driver pulled out of the alley. "CJ, CJ, CJ... I'm so dissapointed in you."

"f*ck you, you bitch. Y'all just can't tell my brother! I'll do anything, man..."

"That's f*cking right you'll do anything, you Grove piece of sh*t."

They pulled the car up to baggage checking. Only the Balla riding passenger got out of the car. He pulled CJ out. The other sped off into the distance. "Just me and you on this one, Carl. I'll give you a little more detail when we get back to Santos." He handed Carl a boarding pass, and they entered Flight C-4. It was an AT-400, your typical jet. "You're in for quite a ride, pendejo." Carl gave the Balla a glare.
