Need help with on of MD's missions

how do you do the mission were you have to get Madd dogs ryme book back from OG loc. I can follow him fine untill he goes in the go-kart and then i lose him. Anything anybody can tell me what to do.

are you trying too hard to keep up with him? try going slower, it's in the game scripted to make him go faster than you can, so try to concentrate more on not hitting walls or buildings and less on speed, unless he gets too far away (not very likely). i haven't done the mission in a long time so i can't draw a map for you, but i am kinda close in one of the files on my computer, so if you need a video i can try to make one for you.

one thing the video doesn't show is how to work the controls. your best bet in the go kart is to tap the directional keys rather than holding them down, as they are very sensitive. it's just a matter of getting comfortable with the controls and then simply keeping up with that busta OG Loc. remember: you don't want to kill him, just catch him, which you'll do if you can keep til the final cutscene.

OG Loc waits for you aswell so just drive catiously and a cutscene will come up endign the mission.

@Cuban: Loc doesn't really wait for you, just that he goes quite slow; he'll speed up when you speed up too much, but otherwise you'll still find yourself failing the mission if you go too slow.

 

@ryan: i see quartet gave you the link to plaka's video; if you still want me to try and make one, just say the word.

 

@quartet: i know of a kart that spawns right behind the gas station in easter basin, between the hill and the concrete wall, but the only time i have seen it is when i went exploring with my 100% save. i have looked with other saves, but no luck. (the same with the one you described, strange that i have never seen it on other than my 100% files). Another way you could acquire a kart is by going to the San Fierro races near Wang Autos and starting the "go go karting" race, then as soon as the race starts, bring the kart to a garage, drive it in, and exit. walk away and have the door close before the counter reaches 0, and when you get sent back to the race selection screen, exit and go back to the garage to find the kart there (this works with the phoenix in one of those races too, one of the only ways to acquire the elusive phoenix.

i must have seen it by zero's shop later in the game than i thought. sorry for the incorrect info about the spawn location. i just looked it up and several posts say it spawns after cutthroat business, which would, of course, defeat the purpose of my suggestion. good luck. it's really not that hard. just go easy on the controls.
