when i get into the generator room and i throw a smoke grenade or whatever it is into the vent with the grill popped off. nothing happens. ive tried throwing all of them in then its mission failed because i used them all.

i dont know what to do.

also when i first enter the casino the guards are shooting at me...i dont have a weapon out. brass knuckles are on my hand though.

 

also its ps2 version.

i think Brass Knuckles count for weapons in this mission, because i once did a SnP for someone, and CJ had them on, and got fired upon by the guards...but it also helps if you walk to the first marker, instead of jogging...

 

for the gas canisters, you'll have to aim correctly with the camera and throw one in...if you're successful, you should see a small cutscene...keep a little distance from the vent, and position the camera while aiming and let it rip!

You need to throw the cans from a distance to where it drops into the vent. Also, don't hold down the button to throw hard. Just tap it for a toss.

Just like Marauder said, toss it softly and if it comes close it will go in.

Yes, proper distance is important. If you stand too close to the vent, it won't work.
