quartet1977
A huge thank you to everyone that helped..All 4 of you. Thanks! no trouble at all. it's fun. with all the discussion over who gets to play your SnP (nice to know we're all so anxious to help, huh?), i forgot to ask: what route are you flying? perhaps we can help you find a better one that will allow you to do this on your own. if you can make the drop, you've beaten the toughest part of the mission. take a look at yeti's easier route guide; it's the best way if you haven't quite mastered flying yet. http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=225511
balmung03
i myself choose to screw the altitude meter and just fly above the radar the entire time; if you wait until you hear the beeping of the missiles the hydras fire, press down and left or down and right on your analog stick to do a kind of barrel roll/loop dee loop move that will 99% of the time allow you to evade the missile (it seems to throw off its heat-seeking capabilities), and you can keep going toward the dropoff. also, if you can fly through some of the dense forest around (not the easiest thing, mind you), the hydras can sometimes get caught between trees and blow up. the only time i'm ever hit when using my method above is when i'm trying to land and get hit because i don't have the speed or altitude to do the move, but at that point it's a moot point because i land within seconds after that, and it takes at least 3 hits to be in danger of blowing up your plane. EDIT: If you wish, I can use your savefile to make a video of this method, and put it up here. Locked by Wolf68k There is already a video of it made by Plaka. Although this method in the video is completely different from what everyone would suggest. Edited April 16, 2006 by wolf68k
