mafiaking
you know how san andreas was set before liberty city? right to the point when you complete the storyline (main) you get a phone call from catalina and she's moaning down the phone and she mentioned claude's name too. so couldn't she be the cartel boss from liberty city? cause both characters sound the same in both games. any idea's
crazyanurag
not only does she mention Claude, you can find Claude in two cutscenes during the mission "Farewell, My Love...", where he is one of the competitors...after that, Catalina and Claude leave for Liberty City, where 9 years later, Catalina screws Claude over during a bank heist...Catalina is the person Claude hunts for in GTA3... Torcidas
Can anyone tell me if Gta:Vice, and Gta:SA have links to each other in the story?
balmung03
if you played GTA3 recently (or remember it from before), you'd know that the name of that cartel boss is none other than catalina; you even see her in the game and can easily identify the similarities of the models of catalina and claude. you were right when you suspected this. @Panksta: don't do one-word posts like that, especially when you seem to be flaming. that can get you banned here if you do it too much, so you should probably avoid it in the future if you want to stay here. just a bit of friendly advice. @torcidas: Vice and SA have links, definitely; the V-Rock Hotel, for instance, is like the radio station 'VROCK' in Vice. the two people the truth recruits for you to help with your garage are the two people that you met in Vice when you bought the boatyard. Ken Rosenberg, your lawyer in Vice, is the leader of Caligula's Casino for a little while, until Salvatore (that would be a GTA3 reference) takes over, as well as you get to meet Kent Paul, Ken's friend and someone you should know from Vice. Also, during the mission 'The Meat Business', Ken makes the comment "Takes ya back, eh Tommy?" (or something like that, I'm too lazy to look it up in the .gxt file), which references Vice's main character, Tommy Vercetti. There are probably more, but I can't think of them at the moment. Mainland Marauder
This topic is, like, sooo November '04...last time I read one like this I tripped over a "John Kerry for President" yard sign... Anywho... balmung covered a lot of ground in his post as far as answering the question. I'll throw in there that SA has Jethro and Dwaine, and The Truth mentions "the mob" buying their boatyard in Vice. He's referring to one of the asset purchases made in Vice City. Also, Maccer is the singer for a band called the Gurning Chimps and is a character new to SA. He is managed by Kent Paul, who also had ties to Love Fist in Vice City. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be."
syrdax
And you can hear on WCTR in the news: "first was (insert name I can't remember), then Love Fist and now is Gurning Chimps, we have the leader singer Maccer caught up at the airport" and you hear an interview with him. Also, if you look carefully, you will see Claude in the first of the races (the one before Farewell my love) an he is alone, withe same car he will be in the next race (but you wouldn't see his car racing tho in the first race).
