Demarest
No offense, but if you can't look at a stripped SCM and see amongst the two sets off coords how to change where Tommy spawns, you're REALLY in the wrong place.
timmyvermisely5305913
but theres so much............coding in it still and I for the most part have no clue what any of it does. I have the stripped scm that came with BW's Vice Mission Builder v1.1. I think it was called "stripped.scm".I didnt use extremely stripped. Demarest
Then maybe you should? At least to get an idea what to look for? If you search any VC code for #NULL, you'll find the line you're looking for.
timmyvermisely5305913
wow don't I feel stupid I beg for forgivness of my stupid obvious n00bish question................ EDIT: I want to spwan in a interior but the interior won't load. How do I do this? If possible could you give me a link to a site that defines commands for scripting in Vice City? EDIT OF AN EDIT: How can I make it so a vehicle just about always spawns in a given place? I already put the generator in but it just about never spwans there. It only spwans on occasion. Y_Less
The generator is supposed to only do it randomly. vc-db.webtools4you.net Read and search that for commands for what you want. Also read tutorials, I know there is at least one on spawning vehicles, I wrote it! Just search through the forums instead of asking millions of questions. Demarest
wow don't I feel stupid I beg for forgivness of my stupid obvious n00bish question................ Not at all. What you're suffering from is one or both of two things. Either A) you assume coding is hard when it really isn't and B) you don't realize that the answer to most of your questions is well within the reach of your hands. You wouldn't have known to look for #NULL, but had you checked a stripped SCM, the answer would've been clear. EDIT: I want to spwan in a interior but the interior won't load. How do I do this? If possible could you give me a link to a site that defines commands for scripting in Vice City? The answer (as is almost always the case in SCM modding) is to check original code. I'll say it again: check original code. Just about everything the engine is capable of, the game at least used once to show it off. If it's an interior you've been in, then you know the code already provided for it. You'll just have to find where. EDIT OF AN EDIT: How can I make it so a vehicle just about always spawns in a given place? I already put the generator in but it just about never spwans there. It only spwans on occasion.Same answer as before: check how the game did it. What you might be suffering from is that it's not enough to define a generator. You must turn it on also. Once you have, it should always spawn as you've elected unless it's been too soon since you ran off with one it already created. As for color, the answer is yes. In a generator line, you'll find tons of flags. Eventually, you'll find two that are meant to be the primary and secondary colors as defined by carcols.dat. In VC, there are two examples of this I can think of off the top of my head: The Oceanic in front of Ocean View Hotel and Lance's Infernus. I'd use Lance's Infernus to study this for one very good reason: The original game actually defines two Infernus's there. One with random colors (indicated by -1 in the carcols slots of the generator code) and one that's always white. If you look closer at the code, you'll see that Lance's is turned off while the random color one is turned on to infinity (in this case, 101 indicates infinity). Searching for the DMA var that indicates those generators, you'll find that in the victory code section of the mission Rub Out, the random one is turned off and Lance's is turned on. Even though I've explained this, see if you can find it yourself in the game's original code. It will be good exercise
timmyvermisely5305913
ahh.........the joys of testing ............ well I got the rancher to spwan as often as i wanted it to but I still can't get the interior to load. I made an attempt at what I thought would work but it didn't .
