Dynamix06
Hey, im very new here, so go easy =D Ive seen alot of modifications for GTA:SA for pc, i was told that you have to download a patch to replace V2.0 to V1.0 to add mods yourself. Can anyone give me a link for this Patch, and how to work the patch please Thank you alot, to whoever can help a poor '"newbie" like me. =)
woozie-moo
Well as your new i should probably tell you this before an older member flames you. You need v1.0 or v1.01 to mod it,as r* got rid of most of the abbility to mod v2.0 although it is possible to mod it,it is very limited.Anyway here goes, you can get a patch for it but it is illeagel and is also known as 'warez' if you request 'warez' on these forums you'll be banned or at the very least warned, look here to see all the rules and stuff. Hope this helps and welcome tot he forums man prepare to lose your social life! Edited April 14, 2006 by woozie-moo

Eric240
That patch isnt warez bro, it was originally developed to solve the MTA problem that V.2 had, you can get it at the MTA Forums.

Dynamix06
Oh my god. I' m so deeply upset about this. I bought the game for the one purpose of mods. Im so angry at R* for implimenting this stupid update to our nerby shelves. I can honestly say that i will not be buying any folowing GTA games based on my negative opinion of R* now. You should be able to find the moddable PC game online without too much effort; Rockstar had to re-release the game after the Hot Coffee scandal. You might have heard about this last year. Always do a little research before spending money. Anyway, if you're looking for information here, try the Forums search feature and you may well find what you're after. I do not play PC and I don't know specifically if there's a patch to restore v.2 to v.1; it's probably not a Rockstar-released patch if there was one (since I'm guessing it would restore the hidden content removed from the original). Your PC v.2 packaging will say "Second Edition" on the bottom of the front side if it is that version. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." GTA3Freak-2001
While the patch that turns v2.0 into 1.0 isn't warez it isn't something we like to be posted as it removes the protection Rockstar put into the game. Usually we just point people in the direction of the MTA forums where this patch can be found, regards to this patch I've heard that it doesn't actually fully make the game moddable as its mainly designed for MTA to work on 2.0. Exactly what I was thinking. But, just for the sake of discussion, does it mean that the HC content is in the Second Edition but just not accessible because of the inability to mod or use mods? And if it was removed, what's the point in disallowing modding? Just wondering if you could shed some light on that. trikkstah
I think after everthing they had thrown at them because of the HC crack/mod whatever, they weren't taking any chances at R* of ever having that happen again. It's a shame really and to blame are the overreacting people, but that's been discussed enough already.
