SIP YEK NOD
it can be built for about 450 canadian(about 225 gbp) brand new with warranties on everything. your best bet would be to find computer illiterate people, and sell it to them for 175GBP as a "good internet computer". you might get lucky and actually get 175 for it. kinda related: at my last job, i saved a similar computer from the trash, 2.66ghz p4, radeon 7000 AGP, 40 gig drive, 256mb ram. windows xp pro. that should be an indication as to how much it is worth. Dup
2.70Ghz Intel Celeron40GB HD Western Digital :I 256 RAM Samsung 2 Ram Slots no AGP. PC is 2 years old. On-board GFX. I wanna sell it and get a new one. I sold a PC with lesser specs than that on ebay for £170. There are buyers out there looking for cheap workstations just to run office on etc, just for a small business. You gotta clean it up well inside and out, and take some decent pictures, inside and out. Also show a pic of it running via the monitor too. A little work could bring you a small bit of cash. The Mothership
f*ck, my main windows rig (the one i have now), has similar specs. i got it summer '04, and it's one of those computers that just isn't powerful enough for it's operating system. stupid bloated OS. It's only the RAM that'd be holding you back. XP likes more than 256mb. DSLinux is only 50 megs, so you can't cry about space with that. Those two installed will be smaller than the winxp you have at the moment. K^2
Or install W95. I used to run 95 on a machine with 500MB of HDD space. Of course, 98SE is signifficantly better than 95 and can also run from signifficantly les than a GB. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns. K^2
You could run Wine on Linux. A lot of modern games, if not most, run under Wine. Some developers, such as Id Software, release Linux binaries for their games. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
