Puma06111991 Posted April 13, 2006 Share Posted April 13, 2006 ok here's what i do: 1 first make a model with sketchup 2 then convert it to a .3ds format and select the options as described HERE 3 then i open GMAX and import the .3ds file and select the options as described HERE 3 then i click rightmousebutton and convert to>editable mesh 4 i fill in a model name (tram) 5 i run kami's "GTA_gDFF_IO" script 6 select the model 7 click on "select col" and choose the "tram.dff" 8 click on "export" 9 choose a directory and a filename (tram) 10 click on save AND THERE'S NOTHING SAVED!!! i have tried reinstalling the script i have tried reinstalling gmax WHAT DO I WRONG? what's the problem? i really need help! Suction Testicle Man Posted April 13, 2006 Share Posted April 13, 2006 The tutorials you're using are for buildings, not vehicles like a tram. You may need certain dummies, and you'll definitely need a tram dummy for the very centre at position 0,0,0. So though you're having trouble getting a dff to appear, your method won't work anyway. Try importing the original tram.dff into Max so you can view it. The problem with SketchUp is the lack of any technical detail in making a simple user interface means it's terrible for designing for a game. At least, you're gonna need more than 2 programs and it's going to be lengthy and complex. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.
