saturnneo
Hi guys, i have been setting up angles and camera shots to make captures, for a new project/short film im messing with for fun. I'm basically going to recreate a few scene's from BTTF using caharacters in LCS. Once all the shots have been done, i'll edit them frame by frame, ading on visual effects (one of my majors) and export to a Flash (and other formats) animation for easy viewing. Anybody interested, with a keen eye for film, animation, angle an location, just PM me or reply here. ::southern accent:: Wale, Watch Y'all Thaynk......? The only way I can make animations is by using GM and turning the animations I make into .GIF's I am to poor to afford Macromedia Flash and all those other programs. saturnneo
Yea, i basically just use the GIf's. Only i take certain shots... e.g. a police chase around staunton. I'll film that, then film a few second shot, or third of toni in the car, blah, blah...etc Evertually i have a buch of stuff to piece together. Atfer a small edit, i can import into Macromedia Director, so some visual F/X, and export as a Flash animation. I have been messing with the ideas for sometime now. ANYONE WANTING TO HELP LET ME KNOW! JUST THINK, BACK TO THE FUTRUE!!! Edited April 12, 2006 by saturnneo
Napolean
you should import the gifs into flash, and export as .avi with psp resolution
mikiupdown2
I think you should do it in a variety of formats. I would be happy to provide file hosting.
saturnneo
I suppose i could do different formats for different players. That way everone could check it out. It will probably be anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes, depending. Basically re-enacting (in a LCS way) the last few scenes in BTTF1. I've got a few scenes setup already, but ight now it's just findin' the time to sit down and do it.

Wesyeed
Cool! i'm working on a similar project, only mine will feature toni moving back and forth through time in an odd little story I'm making rather than reconstructing the movie in lcs. Maybe I could help with some of the shots if you need it.

saturnneo
Awesome! Right now i'm converting some of the final screenplay into something we can do with the video shots. You know, it would kick A$$ if we could edit the color (if there is i missed it) of a peds hair to make them look like Doc. I believe Carbon_copy is checking in on a good Doc ped, and i'm working on Toni as Marty. There is 2 scenerios i'd like to work out, one like the mall chase scene with the Lybians and the Van. The other sorta like the beginning of BTTF2, when they pull out, drive back into hover mode, camera pans a bit, and the Delorian flies over disappearing into a reverse explosion. Then ofcourse the fire trails...Ooooh...Fiiiiire!

saturnneo
Good job man. Yea i like him as well. It looks like Doc when he takes Marty to register for school in the first movie! Although i had seen another guy that looked decent, in my delrium last night i dont remember which...
Jamming
Heres a good idea maybe. Go on Multiplayer and have one person play a cop and another a robber so that you can control both the cop and the robber and make them into actors to do whatever. saturnneo
Carbon i love what i'm seeing. I was also thinking of a good take off spot in SV just below save house, in the "burbs! I'm trying to find the WAV files of the movie clips so i can add that to the animation. Anybody that has stuff and wants to send it, PM me and i'll give further info. Great job guys! Also, has anyone made a chaet to lock the outside car camera (maybe i overlooked it)? Edited April 13, 2006 by saturnneo
Wesyeed
I have a wave clip from that part of the movie thanks to the internet... I thought that was a good spot for that scene too, so I just went ahead and recorded myself doing it there back when I beta-tested v1.0 of CD: You can get the steam cloud effect under the car by changing the cars particle fx to a white color using vettefan's cheat. Here's some test shots of the mall scene from the first movie. I built the truck carriage or whatever it's called using gray garage doors. It was not as easy as I thought it would be. I suggest using Ade's construction site to make it since that makes them perfectly lined up and not all wonky; my car kept getting stuck inside it. I have the dark weather cheat turned on for this and the time set to early morning around 1:00. These are the two locked camera cheats: #cheat Lock Camera setchar(pplayer + 0x560, 1); #off setchar(pplayer + 0x560, 0); #cheat lock Camera in car setchar(0x08B8344C, 4) I combine them for convenience sake: #cheat ultimate locked cam setchar(0x08B8344C, 4) setchar(pplayer + 0x560, 1); #off setchar(pplayer + 0x560, 0); This sort of thing isn't easy to accomplish but it's doable. You can make the car look like it has those blue neon lights things on it too by changing the second color choice up two units. I think I have some pics of that here some where... Carbon_copy
Here's something I did pretty quick, just wanting to get the feel of it. I think it came out good, I just want to edit the speed on the van, make sure there arint any newspapers there, and in the final make it so that it disappears like wesyeed's last gif. Wesyeed
blablabla my last post bla bla gifs and text Wow, that's real good, I'm going to start working on test shots, for the take off. How exactly is that last gif you put made? thanks and may I say your chase test shots look fantastic Well the flux dispersal thing... it's pretty simple and complicated at the same time. I used the "rapidfire but can't move"cheat in the car along with remote grenades to get the big flash. The car was invisible of course and I had to record myself turning off invisibility once the flash reached it's highest intensity in order to get the illusion of the car coming out of it. The only way to throw grenades I've found is to have hover cars on and pull back on the analog stick while pressing at the same time. Also, there's some distortion of cheat device that occurs when explosions are happening and that causes some of the menu to be captured when the screen shakes. so there's no way around that except to be very fast when opening/closing the menu to turn off invisibilty. That way less of the menu will be caught.

Thanks , Last night was trying to make so that I would later edit it in my GIF editor, so I tried using grenades while keep the camara still locked, than adding it to the original GIF, it was quite difficult, and I never pulled it off. saturnneo
Great guys! I like what i see. I'm working on doing some some visual effects (frame by slowa$$ frame) for my little demo. I'll try to release it for you guys later today. On another note, this project will take some time. Between assigning shots, setting up shots, compositing, editing, sound and finalizing we have our work cut out for us. But i'm willing to do it! I have been wanting to do this for awhile (since like v5 came out), and i'm glad to see there's other amateur filmakers and animators that wanna help. Thanx again. Carbon_copy
Also, in my test shots of the chase, my camara on CD was acting up, but it did a really good effect, becuase as soon as the Delorean flys past the camara it started shaking, and I was like...Whoa... I'm hoping we can get a good team together and make a kicka$$ short movie. Who know's it may end up on that VH1 internet show!
PigManDan
I can help getting any sounds anyone wants... just ask for whatever specific quotes you want/need... if you're doing the end of bttf1/beginning of bttf2 i can just get that whole scene as a wav/mp3/whatever you need... just ask. EDIT: Oh yeah, I just watched that video that Wesyweed posted - and remembered always thinking the old man ped (red jumper, brown trousers/pants, white hair) looks like old Biff... you could use him if you were making any scenese that involve him. Maybe. Edited April 16, 2006 by PigManDan
