The Sindacco Family

Chapter Two

"All's Well That Ends Well"

"Wake up..." Tommy said jousting me with his gun.

"Ouch! Stop it..." I mumbled.

I heard my back crack as I started to slowly sit up.

"And Where the F*CK have you been? I must have been asleep for hours..." I yelled.

"Try like an hour...Yeah, well I got some men and they're ready to work, Boss." Tommy replied.

It was the first time anybody had called me Boss, it was actually the first time anybody had called me anything except my first name.

And you know what? I kind of liked it, it had a nice ring to it. I swung the chair around about 90 degrees when the bright computer

screen flashed in front of me. I didn't notice it was even on, or that I had left it on, I was sure I turned it off before I dozed off. I swung

the chair back around so I was facing the computer. I stared at the computer, an envelope appeared on-screen, I had an e-mail,

I didn't even know the computer had its own e-mail address. I clicked the envelope and it opened a new window, I looked around

through filesand finally found the new one. It was weird because this e-mail address had not been used for close to 2 years,

all the e-mails were from 1999 except this new one. I clicked the e-mail, which had no title, and started reading.

Date: January 7, 2001

From: -Private E-mail-

To: [email protected]

Subject: None

-------------------------------------------------

Hello. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Louie. I know you don't know me, yet, but you will soon enough. I just wanted to congratulate

your family on making an excellent buy. This land is prime land, cops aren't even within miles of the location, its perfect to do...whatever

it is that you do.

I also wanted to let you know what happened to the previous owner, it seemed he accidentally was beaten severely and shot in the

head, this will be your fate too if you don't keep to yourself. I'll make sure you die a slow...painful...agonizing death.

Good day to you.

Sincerely,

Louie

P.S. We'll be in touch.

I finished reading the e-mail and kept staring deep into the screen, I knew nothing else was going to happen but I just stared. I didn't

even budge for a solid minute. Then, Tommy tapped me on the shoulder.

"Uh, what'd it say?" He asked me.

"Nothing, nothing. So did you get those guys or were you hanging around Seven again. You know the Leones hate us so why even

go down there..."

"I wasn't down there, but you gave me the idea to go visit some of my favorite friends. Anyways, yeah, I got the guys and they're

waiting outside."

"How many?"

"'Bout six, seven maybe..."

"I ask you to get me some reliable men and you only bring me six. What the f*ck is happening to this town? God almighty... Alright, let's

go see what scum you found in the alley next to Seven." I said with a sigh and got up from my chair.

I walked over to the small window that was in my office and looked outside. It was still snowing, I could tell, yet, I couldn't see a god

damn thing, the window was frosted over and I couldn't see out. I went over to my coat rack and grabbed my jacket. As I approached

the door it slowly got colder and colder, I threw my jacket on and Tommy opened the door for me. The January cold hit me like a ton of

bricks and I almost ran back inside, but no one wants their boss to be a b*tch. I shivered, once or twice, as I walked towards the men,

I could barely see their faces it was so foggy out. As I got closer I could see more and finally the men came into focus, some men were

small and some were giants, some were skinny and some were fat, all of them would be working for me though.

"Hey boys, let me be the first to say Welcome to your new job. You will all get paid, but in order to get paid, you have to earn me money.

Yeah, it sounds sh*tty huh? Well in order for you to get paid, I have to have money...right now, I don't and that makes me angry. You all

will have jobs, some will walk the streets and keep our turf local, we don't want no f*ckers trespassing on our turf and if we find trespassers,

well then we'll have some fun. Some of you will guard the factory as I won't be here 24/7, I have a life too boys...but this

isn't about having a life, now this is about family...Look around at the person next to you, they...are now your brother, treat your

brothers with respect and they will show the same respect to you...understand?"

A couple of muffled yeses came from the crowd of men.

"Yeah it's sh*tty outside, what do you want me to do about it? Right now, all fo you will be assigned jobs, of course the bigger men will

be assigned to gate duty, the smaller guys will be assigned to do some odd jobs for me, and the rest will stay here...right where you

stand and you will patrol, if anyone tries to jump these fences you see around you...KILL THEM!"

I walked over to the men and started telling them their jobs, I sent two of the biggest guys to the gate to guard, lucky for them the gate

had a small toll booth looking thing that they could sit inside so it wouldn't be so cold. I chose two more to patrol the grounds and the rest

I sent off into Liberty City.

"Anything you guys steal, find...I really don't give a flying f*ck what you did to get it. Bring it back here, the factory is big enough to store tanks

so it will fit."

I tossed each of the men a Desert Eagle and a cell phone, hopefully that would be enough. Paulie really didn't help me out a lot down here so I

stopped by Ammu-nation and picked up some guns. The men scattered in different directions, the two assigned to gate duty and the two assigned

to patrol walked together and discussed, the men assigned to go out got into their Sentinels and drove off, it was good to see everything coming

together. I, on the other hand, didn't have it so easy, I had to run the factory and be able to make myself some money on the side, I was just

another worker. I headed to my apartment complex to pick up a friend. Hopefully, he wouldn't have a problem working for me.

I headed back towards the factory and got into my Sentinel. Once I got in I brushed the snow off my jacket and rubbed my hands

together to warm-up. I turned the heat all the way up in the car but it seemed it wasn't getting hot fast enough, I would have to deal with

it for now. I shifted the car into reverse and backed out of the factory, once I reached the road I threw it into drive and drove off

towards my apartment in Portland.

"You're dial is in the 90's but your head is stuck in the 80's. Flashback 95.6" The voice on the radio said.

I liked listening to the radio, it made the ride go along a lot faster. When I hear the radio I just lean back and start listening, I liked Flashback FM the most,

it played all my favorite songs from when I was younger.

"...Better stand back; get out of my way,

I'm coming on strong like a burning flame

Hey hey hey I'm hot tonight..."

I wasn't the worlds karaoke champion but whenever I hear a song on the radio I know I just start singing, sometimes I don't even know

I'm doing it until someone tells me to stop. I was so caught up in that song that I missed my turn. I guess I should have been paying

attention more but, oh well, what can you do. I quickly turned around and headed back, this time I remembered to turn and entered the parking lot of my

apartment complex. I parked the car and got out. Once again, Old Man Winter b*tch slapped me as the cold air stung my face, it felt like it was burning

but there was nothing I could do. I ran as fast as I could to my friends apartment and fiercely pounded on the door. I could hear him inside, it sounded like

he knocked over a few things on the way to the door. He swung open the door, he just stood there, it looked as if I woke him and he wasn't to pleased. He

stood there with a gun in one hand and a beer in the other. He took a swig.

"Now what the f*ck do you want?" he asked rubbing his eyes.

"Just wake up I see..." I replied.

"Yeah I just woke up, you woke me a**hole..."

"I know, I know but...Christ! Let me in it's freezing out here!!!"

"Freezing for you? I'm standing in the middle of my door with no pants on. Ya f*cking psycho, I thought the cops were busting down my door and then I open

it and it's you, standing out there in the freezing cold..."

I hadn't noticed it before but he wasn't wearing pants. He stepped away from the door and back into his apartment. I, quickly, rushed

inside and shut the door behind me. I took off my jacket and threw it somewhere, I don't remember where exactly, and walked over to where he was sitting.

I took a seat next to him and we started talking again.

"What the hell are you doing here anyways?" He asked.

"Just came to ask for a favor of you, Joey." I answered.

"A favor? What the hell have you done for me? A favor...psh! Why should I not put a bullet in that f*cking idiotic skull of yours, huh?

Tell me, please, tell me..." He said, but this time raising his voice.

"It's not actually a favor, it's-"

"Now it's not a favor, I don't like to be f*cked with, you know that, of all people you shoulda known that, but you forgot didn't you...of course...you forget a lot

within 2 years?"

"Look, Joey, yeah...we haven't exactly spoken in awhile but we used to be good friends...I just came over to ask if you want in on this

little business opportunity. We're gonna be making a ton of cash, I mean raking it in."

"Oh Vincent, this is the same tone you had with me last time...the last time, you f*cked me in the ass. I said, sure I'll let him have the

money, and what do you do? You lose it all to some f*cking, whoever. Remember Vin? Do you?"

"Yes...I remember. YES, YES, YES! It was my fault, people make mistakes. I want to make it up to you."

"How are you going to make it up to me...hm? How? Cause if I remember correctly you owe me about a hundred grand. I gave you a hundred grand of my hard

earned money and you lose it, I don't know how or why you didn't tell me sooner but ya did. Ok though, I'll do this little 'business thing' with ya. I aint giving

you no more money though, you got me?"

"No money needed just, put some damn pants on and bring your gun. I'll be outside..."

I went to the door and opened it, I walked back outside and shut the dor behind me. I heard more banging inside, and more cans hitting

the ground. I ran to the car and turned the heat up again. I was still freezing though. I waited for Joey to come out, it seemed like I was waiting forever, but

in reality it was only a few minutes. He appeared in his doorway and walked towards the car, this time he was wearing pants. He got in and shut the car

door as I turned the key in the ignition. The car let out a roar and I drove out of the parking lot. It wasn't long before Joey started jawing again, when we

stopped at a red light I could finally say something back.

"...and another thing..."he was starting another sentence when I stopped him.

"OK! I get it, you got screwed out of money, but so did I a**hole, you would know that if you weren't thinking about yourself all the time."

"Me? Thinking about myself all the time. You gotta be kidding me, after all I've done for you. Remember when we were kids..."

"I don't want to hear childhood stories because I remember saving your ass a couple time. I got you that job, I got you started, I created you."

"You didn't do sh*t, got me some lousy job working for you d*ckhead brother."

"Don't talk about my family like that now, Joey. I'm serious now. Don't start, I'll throw you out and you can walk back."

"Whatever man. Just remember, when Charlie the Bully tried to take your lunch money, I saved your ass. Remember that..."

"Ok, Joey, I'll remember. But remember, when you were staring down the barrel of a loaded Colt .45, I saved your LIFE..."

"Shut up and drive..."

The rest of the ride was quiet except for the sounds of Flashback FM in the background. Midway there I turned the radio up.

"For people that just can't let go. Flashback FM." the Voice said.

Once the music started playing, I knew I would break into song.

"Ever since the day I met you,

I knew that you were the one for me..." I started to sing.

"Jesus Christ! Would you turn that off? I'd rather be dead then have to listen to you." Joey screamed.

The song ended just as we pulled up to the place. It was getting dark now, I pulled the car over to the side of the street and turned the

radio off.

"Hey what are we doing?" Joey asked looking around.

"You'll see..."

Joey's eyes wandered all around. It was still snowing outside and it was still just as foggy as this afternoon. But it was dark now, and

a whole lot colder. I peered out my window to see if anyone was home. This would be my first big job. We were at a house in

Shoreside Vale, the biggest one on the street, the owners were on vacation in Vice City. It was too cold for them here, I guess.

"What are we doing?!?!" Joey asked again.

"Would you shut up! The owners are on vacation and I know they have a whole bunch of stuff just waiting to be stolen."

"We're gonna rob this place? Man the place has to be locked down. They have to have motion detectors, security guards, an alarm...something man!"

"They're not there so it won't matter..."

"If that sh*t goes off we're done. The cops will be all over, this is the only place they patrol anymore, cause all this rich bastards are

sitting pretty."

I didn't answer him, instead I just kept looking outside determining when was the right time to go.

"You ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be...we better not go to jail...I hate that place..."

I laughed and opened my door, before I got out I grabbed two flashlights from underneath the seat. I got out and tossed Joey one, he

caught it with one hand and ran up to the fence. He had his back pressed up against the fence, he was holding his gun up too so he

was ready to fire. I also ran up and leaned against the fence. I turned and looked at Joey and he did the same, for the first time in a

long time I actually felt like we were kids again.

We always got into trouble as kids. We'd break in to peoples houses and steal stuff, just like we were doing now. We did a lot as kids

but somewhere between being a kid and being a grown-up (kinda) we lost that connection and our friendship was ended. But, I knew

he was my best partner and together, we'd run this town.

I turned back towards the house after daydreaming for a little and opened the gate slowly so I wouldn't make any unnecessary noise.

I ran inside and into the yard and crouched down behind a bush, I wanted to make sure I wasn't seen nor heard, I saw Joey run in

behind me and run up to the door. I watched in suspense as he tried to open the door but, no luck, it was locked. We had to find

another way in. I spotted a window near the side of the house that was cracked open, just a little, maybe I could get it open enough

to climb in. I stayed crouched but made my way towards the window, I put my gun away and grabbed the window with both hands,

I used all my power to force the window up. It was just big enough to fit through, I stood up and put one foot on the sill and then the

other, I was in.I ran over to the door and unlocked it, Joey ran in and we took out our flashlights.

"Split up" I whispered.

"Alright, if we run into any trouble, actually I don't know how we gonna do that...If we run into any trouble turn off your flashlight. I'm

sure you'll be able to see if I turn mine off, it's so goddamn dark in here..."

"Alright. Just stay low and stay quiet. I'm sure the neighbors already heard something."

Without saying another word we both split up. I went into the garage and poked around while Joey went up to the bedroom to search

for jewelry and anything else that has worth. In the garage I didn't find much, just some tools and a brand new car. I looked at the car

for a moment, I wish I had enough money to afford something like that. I came out of the garage and headed to the living room. There

was nothing in there either, except a TV which I couldn't steal without some kind of van. I quickly headed upstairs to meet up with

Joey.

"Joey!" I said just loud enough so he could hear me.

"What?" He answered.

"Find anything?"

"A sh*t load of jewelry, some necklaces, some earrings, rings...all looks expensive..."

"Alright I'll check the other rooms up here." I whispered.

"Got ya! I'll be here..."

I looked around the upstairs, there looked to be about 3 or 4 rooms, probably all bedrooms too. I checked one which looked to be an

infant's room, I didn't think there would be anything in there. I checked the other room, looked like a teenager's room, he or she had to

be spoiled. I walked in shining my flashlight all around. I checked what looked like a suitcase and in there was a bunch of porno mags.

I laughed, maybe a bit too loud, and almost fell over. Then, I started searching through the case when I heard a voice. I thought it was

Joey so I ignored it, he was probably just going to ask why I was laughing. I then headed over to the dresser and checked the

drawers, inside the top drawer was a wad of cash maybe $1500. I grabbed the cash and was about to head out of the room when

I heard some muffled voices. There was another person in here besides me and Joey.

I cracked open the door a little, it let out a little creak but not enough to alert anyone. I was halfway down the hall when I felt someone behind me.

I turned around quick but, there was no one there. It must have been my imagination. I was about to start going down the

hall again when I saw a shadow scurry up the stairs and into the bedroom Joey was in. I didn't even bother to turn my flashlight back

on because I knew it wasn't Joey. Then it happened...

The Sindacco Family

Chapter Three

"Alls Well That Ends Well Part 2/All Tied Up"

"FREEZE! Don't even move a muscle!" The Officer shouted.

I peeked into the room, the cop had Joey on his knees on the ground. I looked around the room to see if any more cops were in there, but there weren't any. One cop, I could handle one cop, it'd be easy.

"Good thing I was on patrol tonight. Now I get to take you in, you no good crook! HA! Serves you right." The cop started to monologue. He even began mumbling to himself about getting promoted and being Chief.

I cracked open the door a little more, but not enough that the cop could see me. I was waiting for my chance to run in and take that cop out. I waited...and waited...and waited.

It seemed like I'd never get the chance, but then the cop moved Joey around so the cop could see out the window, possibly to check if backup was coming. Now was my chance, now the cop was facing the door. I was ready, well kind of...I was also pretty scared, I've never had to kill a cop before. I hated killing people for no reason, but my friend was also in there, at least I think we're friends...maybe not.

"1...2...3!" I muttered before leaping through the door.

"WHAT THE?" The cop shouted.

"Move a muscle and I'll blow your head off." I said quietly. "You know how much noise you're making? You basically ruined our whole operation!"

"I...I...I'm sorry! PLEASE! Don't kill me...I have a family and kids! PLEASE!"

"WOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP! You know what you did now?" I asked the cop.

"No...Wh-What did I do?" He answered with a stutter.

"You probably just woke the neighbors and they're probably calling the cops." Joey chimed in now.

"No..I didn't mean to. I SWEAR! I DIDN'T!"

"SHUT UP YOU PRICK!" I shouted again. "Now you're making me shout!" I lowered my voice now.

"Seriously, guys...PLEASE! Just let me go and I'll forget all about this..."

"I can't believe you. What's your name anyway?" Joey asked.

"Off-Officer Johnson...Officer Howard Johnson." He answered, again stuttering.

The officer stood there, shaking. It looked like any minute now, he would just collapse on the floor. He was rocking back and forth, about to faint. He obviously was never involved in something like this before.

"So...Officer...Johnson was it?" I asked, examining my gun.

"Yes, yes. Johnson. Howard Johnson..." He said, his eyes scanned the room.

"Who are you looking for? There's no backup remember? Just you..."

"Yeah! Just me, and you two..."

"I can't believe you, I'm sorry. Goodbye Officer Johnson." I said, now pointing my gun to his head.

"No...NO! NOOOO! PLEASE---"

I fired my gun, point blank. Blood splattered all over the walls, the floor, and some even got on my clothes. Now, I could hear the sounds of faint sirens in the distance, the cops were always closeby here. I looked at Joey and he looked back at me, we didn't even say a word to each other but we knew what the other was thinking.

"RUN!" I shouted.

Joey and I ran quickly down the steps. I ran towards the door, I wasn't going to open it, I lowered my shoulder and burst right through. It wasn't like the movies; people in the movies always do it so effortlessly, but in reality it hurts. I ran as fast as I could towards my car and started her up. Joey jumped through the window and we took off. I looked back and could see the cops pulling up to the house, some ran inside and some got back in their cars. They wouldn't find us though, here in Liberty City if they don't catch you at the scene of the crime you're as good as free. We high-tailed it out of Shoreside Vale as fast as possible, it would help if I had a better car but the Family can't afford it. We were back in Portland around 1 o'clock in the morning. I began to slow down so my driving didn't look too suspicious, but I wanted to get to the factory as fast as I could. I rested my head against the back of the seat and turned the radio on. I turned the dial to Flashback FM.

"Push it to the limit,

Walk along the razor's edge,

Don't look down just keep your head

And you'll be finished!"

This time though, I didn't feel like singing. I just sat back and relaxed. I tried to forget all about what happened, tomorrow hopefully I would be able to forget.

I stopped the car at a red light and turned and faced Joey. He was relaxing in his seat his head on the headrest. He saw me looking at him and he turned to me.

"What?" He asked.

"This night...it sucked!" I replied.

He let out a chuckle and sank down in his seat again. I turned back towards the road, just as the light turned green.

I took a left and headed towards the factory. I looked down at the clock, 1:23 it said, I thought we had been driving around for awhile. Finally, we arrived at the factory. I took the keys out and hopped out of the car, I was almost inside when I noticed Joey hadn't gotten out of the car yet. I went back towards the car and opened his door.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He gave no answer.

"Hello?" I asked again.

Then I noticed, he wasn't even awake. He had probably fallen asleep after that red light, but I wasn't his mommy so I didn't wake him up. I ran towards the factory and opened the door.

The snow had stopped falling awhile ago, but it was still freezing out. January, is always my least favorite month, it snows, which I hate, and it’s cold, which I also hate. I just wished it would always be summer, it also gets dark less quickly in summer. Getting dark less quickly means more daylight, so I don't have to trip over things while trying to rob a house.

I stood there in the middle of the factory. It was real quiet, like you could hear a pin drop kind of quiet. I peeked in my office; no one was there. I looked out back; no one was there. It seemed everyone had gone home for the night, even Tommy. There was no one to prevent anyone from coming in right now and blowing the places to pieces. I needed to find a night crew, people who would stay the night and keep watch. We had to be on our game 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I grabbed the phone and made a few quick calls, by the time I hung up the phone Joey was walking through the door. He rubbed his eyes, just like he had this morning and walked into my office. He took a seat and rested his head again.

"Man, I need to sleep. I need a nice warm bed..." He said, closing his eyes slowly.

"I'll buy a cot tomorrow just in case anything like this happens again. In case we need to sleep here." I replied.

I also began to get tired, I could feel my eyes closing and there was nothing I could do to prevent it. I dozed off for a minute or two when I heard a buzzing noise. Someone was at the gate, most likely the night crew. I checked the cameras, there was one sedan out front and I decided to buzz them in. I watched the gates open and the sedan drive in. I decided it was best if I went outside to greet them.

The car drove up to the front and parked. Three men got out of the car and walked towards me. I was awaiting them at the font door.

"Mr. Sindacco?" One asked.

"That's me." I answered.

"We're here." Another said.

"I can see that." I answered. "One of you needs to go on the roof and keep watch there, another needs to stand outside the gate, and the other needs to stand inside the yard and patrol. Those are your jobs. I'll be inside..."

"Yes sir!" They said in unison.

"Alright guys. Oh, and take these."

I tossed each of them a Desert Eagle and they ran off to their positions. The Sindaccos were going to take over this town. Everyday we'll recruit more men until we can take out that meatball Salvatore Leone and his prick for a son, Joey. We'll take over this town even if it means war.

I decided to head back inside, it was getting colder by the minute. I returned to my office to find Joey asleep, again. I sat back down at my desk and turned on the computer. It took a minute or two to get started up. I waited patiently, I began to take the jewels and such out of my pockets and lay them on the desk. I noticed how quiet it was inside the factory, I kind of enjoyed it for the moment. I knew I wouldn't get this many moments of peace. This city is in chaos all day, everyday. It's tough to live in some a f*cking scum infested city, but when the Sindacco Family is on top it won't be like that. When the Sindacco Family is on top, we'll run this sh*thole and we'll turn it around. The Leones have had their time, now it's time for a new era, a new beginning.

I was too busy thinking that I didn't noticed Tommy burst through the door with 3 other men, one of the men was carried in (I did notice that). I looked up to see Tommy standing in the threshold that separated my office from the factory. There was barely any light coming from the factory, It was hard to see Tommy standing there.

"What?" I asked.

"You better come out here..." He answered.

"Jesus Christ! What did you f*ck up this time?"

"Nothing. We got a problem!" He said.

"Alright...ALRIGHT." I said getting up from my chair.

Joey had just woken up amidst all the commotion. He was actually frightened when he woke up, he had no idea what was happening. I had no idea either. I walked out into the factory and saw a man tied to a chair with two big guys standing to each side of him. They looked to be our guys. I turned around to see Tommy with a smirk on his face and Joey with no emotion on his face at all.

"What the f*ck is this prick doing tied up like this?" I asked everyone. "Anyone wanna gimme an answer?"

"Well you see, he's a no good, lying son of a bitch. He promised us guns, weapons, ammo, everything. He said it was in a truck at a lock up. We get there, it's empty. Nothing at all." Joey answered.

"So this guy..." I said walking over to him. "Lied to you, which means he lied to me. He lied to the entire family." I smacked him around a little until my hands were red with his blood.

I shook the blood off of my hands and onto the floor. I usually never lose my cool like this but in my job, if you're not out of control...you're not in control. I was learning, slowly but surely, that I'd have to change a little to get what I wanted. This city isn't like Vice City or Venturas, you can't be nice here because the people here don't give a sh*t.

"Where's the stuff?" I asked the man.

All I could hear out of his mouth were some mumbled words that made no sense. He had tape on his mouth so I was just toying with him, I knew I wouldn't hear a word he said.

"So you're not gonna tell us?" I asked.

He let out more mumbles but this time he was louder and more frantic. I could tell I was getting to him, which meant I was in control of the situation. I had him, he would tell me anything I wanted to know I could ask the size of his mother's breasts and he would tell me. I walked over to him and fiercely ripped the tape off his mouth, his lips started to bleed. He was sobbing now and looking down straight at the floor.

"Listen to me you prick!" I yelled, I grabbed him by the jaw and lifted his face up towards me so he could see mine.

The man's eyes were filled with tears, he began to cry louder.

"I'm going to ask you one more time...Where's the stuff, the guns, the sh*t? WHERE IS IT?"

He started to cry more now. He mumbled to himself a little and then stared right back down at the floor.

"What are you deaf? Can't you hear me a**hole! HELLO!? Where is the stuff?"

"I DON'T KNOW!!!!" He screamed.

He continued crying. I knew he was lying also, he just wanted out. He knew where the stuff was, the thing was he sold it to a higher bidder.

"You're lying. Who did you sell it to?" I asked.

"Wh-What? Sell what I didn't sell anything!" He answered, still weeping.

"You're lying to me again. I don't like to be f*cked with, don't f*ck with me!"

"I-I-I'm not. Seriously guys! Please believe me! I wouldn't, I couldn't---"

"Tie him to the car..." I said quietly.

"What?" One of the guards asked.

"Pick his no good, lying ass up and tie him to the hood of my car. Is everyone here deaf? You guys near f*cking hearing aids?"

"No sir." The guard said and looked at the other guard.

The other guard nodded his head. They both grabbed the man, still tied to the chair, and lifted him about a foot in the air. The man was short, kind of weak looking, I don't like weak people. The guards hurried outside and brought some rope with them. Tommy and Joey both stared in amazement and shock, neither of them had seen me act that way before.

"I'm gonna get my coat. Watch the shop while I handle this guy. Got it?" I asked.

"Y-Yeah..." They both said, still staring at me.

I ran into my office and grabbed my coat, then I dashed outside and into my car. It was beginning to snow again, it was still freezing outside too.

"I gave you the chance" I said to the man.

He didn't say much, actually he didn't say anything, he just let out a high pitched scream. He flailed around for a moment, then he got tired and stopped. I hopped in my car and slammed the door shut. I started the engine and began to pull out slowly, and then when I hit the open road I accelerated and drove as fast as I could. I dodged traffic and edged up against parked cars, just to scare him. I knew it was working too because he just screamed louder and louder as I drove faster. I rolled down my window and leaned out.

"Are you going to tell me what I want to know?" I asked.

"I'LL TELL YOU ANYTHING!" He cried.

"Where's the stuff?" I shouted so he could hear me.

"I-I SOLD IT! TO A GANG, a better price!"

"I knew it you lying sack of sh*t. Which gang?"

"T-The-The...The Leones!"

"You piece of sh*t! You're gonna pay for trying to f*ck with me! I TOLD YOU...I DON'T LIKE TO BE f*ckED WITH!"

I started to drive faster and more erratically. The man screamed some more, but at this hour there aren't many cops on duty and many people were asleep. No one was going to hear him where I was taking him. I headed towards the docks. I drove as fast as I could, dodging more traffic and driving on the wrong side of the road even. I reached my destination within minutes, I definitely should drive like tat more often. I slowed down when I got closer to the edge of the docks, once I was near the edge I parked the car and got out. I ran around to the front and looked at the man. He was still crying, he was all sweaty, it actually looked like he pissed his pants. I laughed for a moment at how pathetic he was. He tried to coax me out of killing him.

"Please! PLEASE! Don't kill me...I'll do anything! I'll get you whatever you want! PLEASE!"

"I'm done listening to you! All you do is lie out your ass, I wouldn't believe you if you told me you took a sh*t this morning. I wouldn't care either, but that's beside the point."

"No...NO! PLEASE! Don't do this, you'll regret it...I know! I SWEAR you will regret this..."

"I regret everything I've ever done, but it doesn't stop me from doing it."

I opened the car door and started the car again.

"Say goodnight..." I said waving to the man."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" He screamed, louder and louder to try and get someone's, anyone's attention.

The docks this late at night were abandoned, like an old house. No one was here so no one would be able to hear him. All I heard was a couple of dogs barking and that was it. Oh and the man's screaming, I could hear that too.

I revved the engine to scare him a little more, he flailed around wildly to try and break loose. I shifted the car into drive and placed a cinderblock on the gas pedal. The car sped off into the distance, I heard it land with a splash but I didn't even bother to watch. I already knew what was going to happen, he'd flail around some more and then begin to sink screaming as loud as he could but no one would save him nor would they be able to anyway or want to. I could hear the man screaming as I walked away. Then everything went quiet, the car must have sunk, and he would be sleeping with the fishes tonight.

A few miles down the road I noticed something, I had no car no means of transportation. I let out a sigh.

"It's gonna be a loooong walk home tonight..." I said to myself aloud.

I walked for what seemed forever until I reached Bitch'n Dog Food. I could've stolen a car from somewhere but all the car doors were locked. Not one car was open, this is what the city is like though, anyone will take anything from anyone else. I tried to buzz in, but there was no answer. They must have gone home, I began to turn around when a voice came on the speaker.

"Vinny?" The voice asked.

"Yeah! Let me in..." I answered.

"You've been gone for hours. Where's the car?"

"Bottom of the river." I answered with a chuckle.

The gate opened and I walked in. I was probably suffering from Stage 1 Hypothermia now, but I didn't care. I couldn't feel a thing; I had been walking for hours and was so cold I had lost all feeling. I walked through the door and into my office. I found Joey, asleep again on the same chair, and I saw Tommy, barely awake at my desk. I collapsed onto the floor, I couldn't get up nor did I want to. I just wanted to lie there. The crazy thing is, this was only the first day and already I've almost been arrested, almost been killed, killed 3 other people including a 20 year old kid and an officer, and I've walked home in below zero temperature. I just couldn't wait to see what tomorrow would bring, but right now I just want to get some sleep.

I lay there on the floor until the sun, shining through the lone window in my office, woke me up. I leaned up to see that I was alone in my office, nobody had bothered to tell me they were leaving or where they were going. I got up slowly and walked to my desk and sat down.

Today is a new day.

I don't want to see this thing die. So, Johnson why don't you just do this.

Find 1 or 2 more reliable people who would like to help run this. Make a joint account named "BUYG" or something and the leaders can have the password to it. This is too big of a job for one man to run. IMO.

Opinions?

I would have to decline on that. I have to write for this, I run the GTA3 Caption Contest and I am on a E-Fed, so I don't want another obligation. I wouldn't be able to handle all of that plus real life. I was just throwing the idea out there for anyone who could do it.

Yeah, i'd like to do it but I'd have to say I'd probably be just as unreliable as johnson. 'cos I keep meaning to start writing my first capter and then forget but I dunno if I will because he hasn't updated in a bit, I'll see though.

The jpint ownership would be good if you could get two reliable people, eyeswideshut goes on here the most so I'd probably put him forward if he agrees.

wow but I'm too new to do anything I guess. I'd be happy to help since I check this topic all the time. But I have obligations outside of here, but I am on here more than johnson. no offense. I would love to help out but there is nothing I can do until johnson. would agree to a joint thing.

yeah but i've never been active enough in the past and never had an account with over 100 posts until this one. my first one back in 2003 only had like 30 posts or something and the other had like 12, not even. I'm not "new" but i'm new to this BUYG and i've hardly contributed anything here. that's what I meant...

and I also don't think johnson. would like all this chatting, it's helping th etopic stay on page 1 but please post your guy's stories, that way johnson. will know we want this topic to live... icon14.gificon14.gif

Lol, lets hope he didn't die. I am kinda holding off on writing my next chapter because I don't want it to be for nothing.

For anyone who wants to run this. You can create one in the other sections. Like a GTA3 version or something. But if you do, get a good 2-3 guys to start with.

Okay, I'm quite disappointed with this chapter you're about to read, especially considering how long it took to write. It's a continuation of the introduction which is at the end of Page 4 of this topic. Anyways, I hope you can enjoy it, here it is.

Day 1

Part 1

I woke up to the shrill tone of my alarm clock and climbed out of my bed. The phone began to ring and I made by way over to it, still half-asleep.

“Hello?” I mumbled.

“Yeah, Marco, it’s Rafa,” came the voice from the other end.

“Right, why’d you call so early Rafa?”

“Swing by my place on your way to work, we need to do something,” he said in his thick accent.

“Oh c’mon I’ll get in trouble for being late!” I protested.

“Nah, don’t worry, I’ll vouch for ya,” he replied. “Plus, this is more important than fixing cars and all that, and you’ll get more money too.”

“Did you say money? I’ll be there in 15 minutes,” I joked. “See ya then.”

Fifteen minutes later I pulled up outside Rafa’s apartment near, he got in the car wearing a typical Leone suit.

“Right, Marco, we gotta go get the monthly protection money from the Harwood area. It shouldn’t take long; Harwood is still under firm control by the Leones. We’ll go to the Capital Autos first,” he ordered.

Harwood used to be Forellis turf and earned its place in Liberty City legend way back in 1971 when Tommy Vercetti famously killed eleven men single-handedly after Sonny Forelli set him up. He became known as “The Harwood Butcher”, 15 years later he killed Sonny down in Vice City and has been a close ally with the Leone’s ever since.

Rain began to fall down as we got out of the car outside Capital Autos. Rafa lead me inside and we sat waiting patiently for the manager to finish dealing with a customer. Finally he made his way over with a case, obviously containing the money.

“Hi, here’s the protection money,” he said nervously.

“Thanks, the Don will be very happy,” Rafa said, trying to get the man to relax but he wouldn’t. “Have you had any trouble recently?”

“Well,” he began to twitch nervously. “I had some Triads in just yesterday, after closing time, asking for protection money.”

“What did you do?” I asked worriedly, if he had paid them off he may have to be ‘replaced’ by another manager.

“Well, I erm… I killed them,” he said, full of shame.

“Oh, good boy!” Rafa said excitedly. “Where are they now then?”

“I took them over to the car crusher and, well y’know the rest.”

“Wow, you’re a real pro,” I said. “Next time anything happens and you need help, it’s just a phone call away. Ring the Leone contact.”

We went back outside and into my Leone sentinel. It was 10 o’clock according to the digital clock in the car, the rain as pouring down heavy now and a distant sound of thunder could be heard over the radio, lightning cracked the sky in two out at sea.

“Now to the AMCO gas station,” Rafa said.

I pulled up alongside a petrol pump and began filling the tank up as Rafa took care of the money. I watched through the window as he confronted the man who owned the place, Rafa actually seemed to be getting angry. Something was going on in there so I finished with the gas pump and went inside the station. Rafa was nowhere to be seen, he hadn’t left, and in fact he’d been standing right where I was just a few seconds before.

I heard a muffled yell in the back room behind the counter and knew it was him. I jumped over the desk and drew my Colt .45. Ahead of me was a corridor with two rooms coming off either side, the corridor was bathed in darkness. However, I managed to get a brief glimpse of a shadow through a doorway.

I made for the where the shadow was and peered into the room, well hidden from any people inside… or so I thought. Something pierced my left shoulder, sending me to the floor. I’d been hit by a bullet. I pulled myself up and glanced around the doorframe again, footsteps sounded on the other side of the room followed by two distant whispers and another muffled yell.

Suddenly another door in the room was kicked open by one of the men and light poured in, illuminating the faces of the three people. One was Rafa, bound and gagged and being carried out the door by the other two. These two kidnappers were brutish, armed and seemingly Italian-American although I recognized neither of them as Leone members.

Realizing they were going to get away, I shot up and dashed across the room but they were out the door to quick and it locked in my face. I quickly dashed back through to the shop front and hopped the counter, pushing past several confused customers on the way out.

I ran to my car and started it up, a black and white-striped Banshee sped out of the AMCO gas station exit and I wasted no time in following them.

I chased the Banshee through the streets of Portland; around the St. Mark’s area and through Chinatown to the coastal road on the west of the island. It sped along past Callahan Point and eventually turned into the Docks. They were leading me right to their base! I got out at the docks and cautiously and carefully followed the car on foot. It drove around a corner to an old warehouse where the garage door was lifted and it drove in. In the short time the doors were open, I saw a dozen or so men standing on guard protecting the warehouse.

“Something is happening which might be a danger to the Leones. I’ve got to tell the Don,” I muttered to myself and turned around to get back to my car.

I entered my car and pulled out my mobile phone from my jacket pocket. I quick-dialled Joey’s mansion and Mickey Hamfists answered.

“Hello, this is the Leone Mansion, Mickey speaking, who is this,” he said bluntly and sounding nothing like the usual polite receptionist you’d normally hear in a telephone call.

“Hey Mickey, it’s Marco Bravo. Is the Don busy?” I asked. “It’s just I got something really urgent to discuss with him.”

“Okay, you be along in ten minutes and the Don will be ready for ya, mind you, it better be good, the Don don’t like no-one wasting his time,” Mickey said. I hung up and made my way to the mansion.
